4.0 out of 5 stars A gripping, true story, May 23, 2009
This review is from: Darkness on a Sunny Day: The Struggle of an Adopted Child to Find Herself (Paperback)
Heidi is an excellent story teller. She has a powerful message of hope for teens, foster families, adoptive families, teachers, therapists, social workers, and anyone who works with troubled teens.

Heidi details the main events of her own life (such as abuse, neglect). She describes her own path toward self destruction, her feelings, her "treatment." Finally she explains how she came out of that dark place.

The story is graphic and difficult, not for the faint hearted.
