i bought this album about 4 years ago and still put it in every now and then to this day. this is their first album and shows that this band is full of raw talent and potential. i only give it a 4 because these guys could do way better cause if you listen to this album you 2 will see just how great they could have become with the right producer and with the wright amount of publicity. the style they play brings to mind a slight touch of metal like heavenly or gamma ray but this bands sound is unlike any other metal ive heard. they deserve a 5 i guess just for not copying all the others. trust me this band is different but awesome as well. the guitar lines are amazing, very catchy fist banging stuff. the vocals are great for the style although not the best singer ever, he still is a good vocalist. look at bands like steel attack, or sacred steel, the singers of these bands are not very good, but the music with their vocal styles makes something original and very enjoyable. you either love it or hate it. i love all power metal and i especially love finding bands like this who are as original and talented as they come. if you love power metal give them a try, if you are new to the scene then i would think you should try out bands like SILENT FORCE, WOLF, TWISTED TOWER DIRE, PRIMAL FEAR, TAD MOROSE or even old stuff like ATTACKER OR MANILLA ROAD or try GRAVE DIGGER any way this band could have really been great but just never got enough attention< also check their other cd CONNECTING ANIMALS

Little is known about this band, and not too many people know about this band at all. Which is a shame, because they play some great melodic metal. Fantastic musicianship and great songs, why other Finnish bands such as Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius became famous but not Afterworld is a complete mystery to me. This gem of an album is recommended to all the fans of melodic metal.

Sometimes I have a dream of some kind of a better world, where an artist is appreciated according to his talents and not according to how fancy promotion he'd been able to get. Unfortunately, the real world is way to far from the world of my dreams, and this is the ONLY reason why this band stays unknown. The album "Darkside Of Mind" could've been a credit to any greatest band of the 80-s. No less.
