Charlotte "Charlee" Boyett~Compo began her writing career as an entertainment editor for one of millionaire Warren Buffett's Sun newspapers in Omaha, NE in the early 1970s. Her first novel, The Keeper of the Wind, was released in mass market paperback in 1996. In 1998, BloodWind, NightWind, In the Wind's Eye, Prince of the Wind, WindFall, and WindChance were released a month apart. Since then, she has had over 70 novels published in print and e-book format. There are over twenty of her titles available in Kindle format. Her website...located at www.windlegends.org...has over 900 reviews of her novels plus synopses and excerpts from her 70+ works.
Charlee writes in the speculative fiction genre with a heavy emphasis on dark fantasy, paranormal romance, and SF/futuristic. Her signature Reaper series of novels have a large fan following. Vampire/werewolf hybrids, Reapers are tall, dark, and handsome tortured heroes with black hair and amber eyes. You can find her Reapers in the WindVerse, WindWorld, DemonWind, and WesternWind series of novels. The award-winning novels all have the word 'wind' in the title in some form or other as a tribute to her husband, Tom: the wind beneath her wings and the love of her life.
Adopted at birth, she was born in Sarasota, FL but was raised in Colquitt and Albany, GA. Because of this, she proudly labels herself a Sunshine Cracker. Married 43 years to her high school sweetheart, she became a widow on April 18, 2009 when her beloved husband...known affectionately to her fans as Buddha Belly...passed away from lung and brain cancer due to exposure to Agent Orange during his tours of duty in Vietnam in the late 1960s. Their two sons, Pete and Mike as well as Pete's son and daughter, Preston and Victoria, live with her in the Heartland of America. The willing caretaker of ten indoor felines, she spends her free time reading, writing, and cleaning litter pans.
