More About the Author

Charlotte "Charlee" Boyett~Compo began her writing career as an entertainment editor for one of millionaire Warren Buffett's Sun newspapers in Omaha, NE in the early 1970s. Her first novel, The Keeper of the Wind, was released in mass market paperback in 1996. In 1998, BloodWind, NightWind, In the Wind's Eye, Prince of the Wind, WindFall, and WindChance were released a month apart. Since then, she has had over 70 novels published in print and e-book format. There are over twenty of her titles available in Kindle format. She writes for Cerridwen Press, Ellora's Cave, New Concepts Publishing, Phaze Books, Ravenous Romance, and Samhain Publishing. Her website...located at www.windlegends.org...has over 900 reviews of her novels plus synopses and excerpts from her 70+ works.

Charlee writes in the speculative fiction genre with a heavy emphasis on dark fantasy, paranormal romance, and SF/futuristic. Her signature Reaper series of novels have a large fan following. Vampire/werewolf hybrids, Reapers are tall, dark, and handsome tortured heroes with black hair and amber eyes. You can find her Reapers in the WindVerse, WindWorld, DemonWind, and WesternWind series of novels. The award-winning novels all have the word 'wind' in the title in some form or other as a tribute to her husband, Tom: the wind beneath her wings and the love of her life.

Adopted at birth, she was born in Sarasota, FL but was raised in Colquitt and Albany, GA. Because of this, she proudly labels herself a Sunshine Cracker. Married 43 years to her high school sweetheart, she became a widow on April 18, 2009 when her beloved husband...known affectionately to her fans as Buddha Belly...passed away from lung and brain cancer due to exposure to Agent Orange during his tours of duty in Vietnam in the late 1960s. Their two sons, Pete and Mike as well as Pete's son and daughter, Preston and Victoria, live with her in the Heartland of America. The willing caretaker of ten indoor felines, she spends her free time reading, writing, and cleaning litter pans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Delightful space adventure with horror elements, January 2, 2003
This review is from: Darkwind (Winddemon Trilogy, 2) (Paperback)
The crew of the United Space Alliance Medevac ship the Orion are shocked when they respond to a SOS only to find female corpses. The ship doctor Caitlin Kelly believes the women died as part of a suicide ritual. Also found is a mutilated individual chained inside a burned room.

Dr. Caitlin provides medical help to the ailing alien. Another ship arrives demanding that they hand over their patient Khierson Cree. However, Khierson decides he wants Caitlin as his mate. His crew takes control of her ship as he begins a campaign to breech her defenses.

Khierson's bloodsire Kameron Cree lives on earth with a Terran mate Bridget. They constantly argue Cam refuses to hold their infant. Kam hides from the Multitude, the women that just tried killing his "blood" son. The Multitude abducts Kam with Bridget wondering what she can do to save her beloved.

"Talespinner" Charlotte Boyett-Compo deftly uses horror figures and places them in outer space so that readers obtain a supernatural space opera that works on several levels. The two major story lines compete for supremacy, but neither succeeds so that the audience is a bit confused until Ms. Boyett-Compo brings the duo plots into one theme. The characters feel genuine whether he or she is a creature of the night or full moon, an earthling, or a distaff Multitude member. Fans who want to try something a bit different should read this space adventure with horror elements as well as the first book in the WindDemon trilogy, BLOODWIND as well as other "Wind" novels.
