THE DARLING BUDS OF MAY is one of the best novels by H. E. Bates, in my opinion. I really enjoyed the television adaptation of the book and thoroughly enjoyed the reading of the book. It made Kent, England and the Larkin family come alive and live in my heart and soul. I visited Kent in 1990 and I plan another trip to Kent, next year, and will be ever mindful of H. E. Bates and his wonderful book! The book is a "perfick" read!:-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful, December 4, 2010

This review is from: Darling Buds of May (Paperback)
Pop and Ma Larkin and company romp through this book thumbing their noses at the establishment and convention. The book is a good read and the video series is hilarious. I laughed at the exploits of the Larkins while being slightly shocked at their laissez faire attitude.
