My older son got this for his little brother (age 3) for Christmas. Little guy was thrilled and plays with it lots. He especially loves that the cargo doors of the shuttle open and close, that it's a decent size, heavy duty die-cast metal, and that the set came with little astronaut guys. I'm not giving it 5 stars, because the retractable wheels of the space shuttle are hard to open and keep open, which has resulted in some frustration. Otherwise a very worthwhile toy that I would recommend to others.

it was sturdy, contained enough information for my 3 1/2 grandson to enjoy and play with. good for the money.

My purchase was the SECOND such space shuttle this particular four year old received. When asked if he would like to exchange it for something else he said an absolute no. And proceeded to play for the next hour or more with a shuttle in each hand. I looked at a number of toy shuttles and choose this one based on the opening doors. That feature seems to be primary to the enjoyment of the toy for this boy. Nice toy and a good value.

This space shuttle was great, for a week. Then the first bay door broke off with very little use. The 2nd door soon followed. Cheap cheap cheap.

It's also disappointing that the astronauts can't fit in the space shuttle. What fun is that?

My son asked for a rocketship from Santa. I saw this and thought it would be perfect! This was the last gift he opened on Christmas day and he was thrilled!

But then... 20 minutes into playing with it, the door fell off!!! We tried and tried to get it back on, but no luck. I would never buy this toy again. Yes, it's only $13, but it should last longer than 20 minutes. My husband and I were watching him play with it and he wasn't being rough or throwing it around.

I contacted Amazon and they are sending out a replacement. I just hope this one lasts longer.

5 year old son asked for this from Santa. He got it. But hasn't touched it at all except for the first hour. I think it's ok. The lack of noise or lights or action bores the child easily I guess. He's not a demanding kid when it comes to toys but there has to be something in it for him. He quickly ditched this and went back to his Legos because while those don't generally have lights or sound or action, at least it gets his creative juices flowing and he can have fun the good old-fashioned way -- by pretend play. But there's not much you can do with rockets that don't make any sounds or give off light. Oh, and one of the components broke too within the first hour.

My son didn't like it too much and he is obsessed with space. He's 5 and just wasn't that into it. He said it was cool, but he thought it was for bigger kids.

This toy is not made well. The plastic is cheap and falls apart easily. The little rubber space men are the best part of this package.

Very small, not close to the 10" Amazon claims for product dimensions. Looks like something you'd find at a Big Lots type store for $5 or so. It does have several pieces with it, which is a bit of a redeeming quality. However, the small size is a big problem.

My son desperately wanted a space shuttle for his 4th birthday so I put this on his wishlist based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, he was sorely disappointed. The cargo doors keep flapping open so he got very frustrated that it would not fly with its doors shut. Also the cargo bay is too small to really put anything in. The stand and flag are useless to him. He has not touched it since the day he opened it. Save your money.
