Maybe I'm blind or have a poor monitor but the picture looks as if the darts are flat. In reality they are round so you can imagine just how thick the ends are. You may think good, the weight will guide the point... wrong. if the darts had fletching on them then it would make them powerful. However the thick ends make it hard to stick into anything unless thrown with like a baseball which isn't practical for dart or knife throwing. You have to hold them as if you were throwing a knife, which I dont mind but I wanted darts to throw like a darts and I wanted them flat. Better off buying the thin spikes if you are looking for what I was. If not and my description sounds cool, power to you.

These are very small and require a great deal of experience to be thrown effectively. Due to they're small size the distance they can be thrown is very short. Also, one of them broke when it hit directly on a cardboard target so they are not very strong. The tips also dull very easy due to the soft material they are made out of. They are good as a novelty item at best.

This product broke the first time it was thrown. I would not recommend. They are not metal but rather some type of composite material.

I was thrilled when I received these the other day and so excited with how well they worked. After reading other reviews I didn't know what to expect, but I had the suspicion that they would be awesome!

These throwing spikes are weighted perfectly and they stuck my target in wood and compact cardboard almost every time. They pack quite a punch as well, it's easy to see whey they were described as if missing sticking in an opponent they could easily stun someone. I wouldn't expect them to easily puncture clothing except t-shirt like material, and even then, they won't go that deep. You can seriously injure someone, so use extreme caution these are not toys. But they would best be used as a diversionary tactic. The thing you see with Ninja's in movie and television is always having them throwing things like these and shurikens and killing someone, but that is so much harder than you would think with weapons like these. It's possible to hit an eye socket and kill or if lucky puncture and artery, but it really takes a huge amount of skill and force to penetrate real deep with these. So like I said, much more a last ditch weapon and a diversion technique. You would use them to confuse and shortly stop an attacker so you could use that time to escape the situation. And of course they can also be used hand-held, and if wanting to seriously injure or kill with these, that would be your best bet. But of course I don't condone or recommend harming other people or animals with these weapons.

Above all they are just really great tools to throw with. They aren't your average fair, such as knives or quills, but once you get used to throwing them, you'll just fall in love with how powerful and precise they can be. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

These were a cool addition to the ninja uniform I purchased for Haloween. I don't practice martial arts so from that standpoint I cant say much. they're really authentic little darts though so you can definitely use them for their intended purpose, as well as a great costume accessory. Just fyi these are made to be worn on the forearm, not the thigh or lower leg as the size of the part to wear them is only so big. have fun!
