FUN? 5 stars... Because, hey, a Darth Vader head pinata is pretty friggin' cool.
EDUCATIONAL? 3 Stars... While pinatas are kind of no-brainers, it wouldn't be fair to give it 1 star. There is some strategy involved to hit the sweet spot after all. DURABILITY? 1 Star... See below. This product looked very cool before we bought it and when it arrived. Now granted, pinatas are no long-term investment, but this one soon proved to be a complete waste of money. Allow me to explain. The problem with this particular pinata is that it's designed in two different pieces, the face mask and the top helmet... just like in the movies. While the design is about as authentic as you can get for a mere pinata, the flaw therein lies with the way the two pieces are connected. It appears as if a few dabs of glue were the cockamamie solution that the designers brainstormed upon its construction. The result... the pinata fell apart after a few gentle taps by a couple of toddlers... and I'm not exaggerating in the least. It didn't break open with a grand spectacle of raining candy and toys (not included), but rather, the mask portion simple plummeted to the ground much to the astonishment of everyone at the party. What a disappointment to my son (the birthday boy), the other kids (who didn't even get a chance to take a swing at it), and me (the sucker who bought it.) Fix the problem connecting the two parts and this would be a 5-Star product.

This pinata looks great and is very durable. In fact, too durable. When the trap door opened almost none of the candy came out - the door was too small. My husband and the kids ended up taking light sabers, baseball bats, and sticks to it anyway - turning it into more of a traditional pinata. Once all the candy came out the kids turned the pinata into a darth vader mask for the rest of the party - taking turns wearing it. It actually turned into a great pinata - I just would forget the pull string idea and just use it as a normal pinata!

I bought this for my 7 year old Godson's birthday party. He and his friends really like Star Wars, and what 7 year old wouldn't enjoy a pinata! It was a lot of fun to see how much the kids enjoyed the whole experience.

It was for my son's birthday and he loves Star Wars Clone Wars.

my son was obsessed with star wars for this past 7th birthday. I thought I would suprise him with this. I did not realize that the kids woudl have to go up one by one and pull on a string to release the candy, but we didn't even get that far. as we were hanging the pinta up, it fell apart and there was no way to save it so all the kids didn't get a chance to do anything with it. just swarmed to the ground for their treasure. i was very dissapointed.

A few people in my class chipped in and we got this pinata for my history teacher's birthday part. We brought in a plastic light-saber for him tho hit it with. The teacher hit it (not that hard) and the mask part came off of the dome part of the helmet. The candy came out, but it was rather anticlimactic (although this teacher did turn 34 and he does work out religiously.......).

This pinata is very detailed. Its cool and may be good for a party with just a few kids but its about the size of a hemet you would put on to wear. I bought it off another website without measurements but just be warned-its small.

This pinata came apart of the very first light tap at my son's birthday party. There were 7 other kids anxiously awaiting their turn to hit it, so we used some duct tape to put it back together and carried on. After 3-4 more duct tape surgeries, we were able to allow all the kids to hit it. Was it fun? Absolutely! But, it really needs a better design. The helmet separates from the rest of the head incredibly easily. Another friend of mine had one and it separated when they hung it up (before anyone even hit it). I still think this is a fun item for a Star Wars themed party, but be prepared for it to come apart quickly.

I searched every party store in my area only to find out that this product has been discontinued. I am glad I was able to purchase it online as it was a big hit at my son's 5th birthday party. The theme was Jedi Training Academy so when it came time to put their evil fighting skills to use there was not a better was to end things than with a piñata of Darth Vader to destroy! The kids also had fun playing with it after it came apart (at least those kids whose head could fit into it).

Very well constructed! Looked great and the kids loved it. Not the type of pinata you beat to pieces with a stick but one that you pull the strings on the bottom (the lucky string opens the candy) which was great because now my son still gets to hang it up in his room.
