The Red Sea Salt has a earthy flavor; it is slower to dissolve on the tongue. It is a beautiful, unexpected hue, and surprised and delighted my dinner guests--none had ever tasted it before! I used a light sprinkling on my endive salad (along with pepper) and it looked exotic and tasted amazing!~

This product is amazing. Not only did I get a very good tasting product, but I also got a hand written note AND a free sample of candy made fresh by Das Foods. I also purchased the Lava Salt with the same reaction. I would recomend this product to anyone who is looking for one of those different seasonings for their food.

This product was an excellent price for a quality product. Shipping was much quicker than expected and came with a hand-written note on the envoice. The holiday shipping did not deter this company from providing first-class service. It would be a pleasure to order from them again.

I just have to say that I agree with the first reviewer. I really had a good experience with this product. I was buying it for a friend, it came very quickly, the product is unique, and it is something that everyone can use. The customer service was outstanding.

This salt has a great flavor. It is a little coarser than I expected and is slow to dissolve, but it give a nice salty burst of flavor with just a hint of something more. A little goes a long way. I think this salt is wonderful on fish and beef. I was very pleased with my order from DAS Salt/DAS Foods - fast shipping, great product, pleasant thank you note and samples included with my order. Although it's not inexpensive, an order of gourmet salts is well worth it from this company.

I've been using this red sea salt for a few years when i work (I'm a chef). The flavor is really bright and enhances quite a few dishes, from meats to veggies and even desserts. I decided to buy some for my home recently here. I find it is better used as a finisher, i.e. sprinkled on foods. I also use it in seafood rubs quite often. My favorite uses are sprinkled on fresh veggies such as cucumber slices and heirloom tomatoes, on chocolate/caramel dishes, and used with seafood. I have several salts, so i generally use this for those three purposes, but sometimes, I'll add it to other dishes as well. It doesnt really dissolve quickly (probably due to the red clay which gives it its color), so it is better used in dishes where that isnt an expectation. Otherwise, it is multifunctional and i think you'll like it. Enjoy!

I bought this salt and the black lava salt for my husband, who is the chef in the family. Both are delicious, with different flavors that are appropriate in different settings. He's having a great time determining all those settings, and I'm having a great time tasting his results.

The salts came with a note from the company and a free sample of some candy; it was a very friendly and pleasant introduction to the company. They also arrived quickly, in plenty of time for the gift-giving occasion for which I needed them.

It arrived when they said it would, and it's a fine salt product. A really good finishing salt.

I debated buying this, as it's rather expensive. I'm glad I got it. It's highly flavorful and more effective than a similar amount of table salt. And since you need so little, it'll last much longer than the small container would make you think. The flavors have more depth than some other sea salts, but they aren't as overwhelming as the truly dark salts. The red color lends beauty to your finished dish. Keep in mind that this is intended as a finishing salt---something to be sprinkled in small amounts over a finished dish---not as a substitute for salt called for in a recipe.

I needed red Hawaiian sea salt for a recipe. It was very easy to order and came right away. It was very good in the recipe. I'm glad I was able to purchase it this way because I could not find it in a store near me at all.
