Weil Kommt Der Winter Immer Wieder,

This review is from: Das Hohelied Salomons (Dig) (Audio CD)
Winter music. Not that it's cold and impenetrable; far from it. Only that it evokes for me the beauty of chill and wind and twilight. But then again, I live in south Texas. The lyrics, by the way (in German, natch), are based on the Song Of Solomon and sung by Djong Yun who graced several Popol Vuh works. And apart from Daniel Fichelscher's electric guitar leads (he of Amon Duul II) which are sometimes spidery and double-tracked, it's completely acoustic. RIP Florian.

popol vuh-das Hohelied Salomos,

This review is from: Das Hohelied Salomos (Mlps) (Audio CD)
' Das Hohelied Salomos' is a more rock-oriented Popol Vuh album, characterised mainly by the electric guitar of D.Fichelscher and with a mild touch of sitar here and there, in some tracks. The beautiful vocals of Djong Yun are present in most of the tracks, creating an exotic climate, similar to that of 'Hosianna Mantra'.This album has also three nice bonus tracks, of which the third reminded me a little, the longer piano suite by F.Fricke 'Spirit of peace'.
