Product Description

The new Das Keyboard has been designed to produce even greater speed by providing responsive, tactile feedback with its new gold-plated and clicky high-end mechanical key switches. Das Keyboard and Cherry GMBH have teamed up to manufacture this wonderful piece of equipment. Das Keyboard sports the longest lasting key switches in the industry. By using gold plated key switches, Das Keyboard is rated up to 50 Million key strokes where as regular keyboards barely reach 10 to 15 Million strokes. Das Keyboard compares and some say surpasses the legendary IBM model M. Its tactile feedback makes it extremely responsive. The audible feedback (i.e. the click you hear when a key registers) is not as loud as the original IBM model M but definitively louder than the one of a membrane keyboard. Like on a piano, since there are no keys to look at when typing, your brain will quickly adapt and memorize the key positions. Within a few short weeks users increase their typing accuracy and find themselves typing up to 100% faster. Like on the original IBM typewriters, the home keys F and J have been specially shaped with an increased curvature so the user's index fingers find their home position easily. Das Keyboard is a USB keyboard, compatible with Windows, MacOS X and Linux. Das Keyboard has a Windows menu key that also works under Linux. Macintosh addicts be will happy to know this keyboard works well for them too. Das Keyboard has been designed for people who spend many hours a day working on a computer and for whom typing productivity and comfort does matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am in love, and thy lover's name is Das Keyboard!, July 11, 2007

Tehe.

I love this keyboard, its absolutely fantastic! It arrived 15 days before they approximated it would get here. Not only that, its incredibly comfortable, and I find my already fast typing speed (74 wpm) already increasing with just using it for one day, and my accuracy is going up as well. I can tell, as I catch myself correcting mistakes I have done before.

I am raving about this keyboard to my friends and family, they all think I'm nuts haha.

It forces you to become so familiar with the keyboard, that you make no mistakes. I'm typing so fast already that I think it was well worth the investment, if not for the improved accuracy and speed, but for the bragging rights haha.

Plus, you know, a blank keyboard, it will turn people away from asking to use your system, or if your a fan of LAN parties, good way to intimidate the competition tehe.

I love this keyboard, it was worth every penny. I strongly suggest this for any veteran computer user, data input/secretary types, or elitist gamers alike hehe.

I have been using this keyboard for about a year now and I would just like to say it is awesome. Best of both worlds, like an IBM M clicky keyboard but with a USB port and not really old. The keyboard was used to type this review...

5.0 out of 5 stars Dvorak on a Das, devilishly delicious!, June 30, 2008
This review is from: Das Keyboard II (Personal Computers)
It must be said that the Das Keyboard is by far the best keyboard out there. Not for its luxurious feel as you type. Not for the sweet clicks that sound as your fingers dance across the specially weighted keys. Not for its ever clean appearance. Not for the fear it strikes in the hearts of the fly by night user. Not for any one of these, but for all of these AND- should you be a victim of Repetative Strain Injury as I am...or just toying with the idea of learning the Dvorak board...there can be no better board than the Das. No letters to distract and confuse you. Can't be a better way to learn a new typing method that's easier on your hands. Farewell QWERTY! Thanks to Das, Dvorak rules!!!

PS- I have a Das & a Das II. Both are splendid in their own ways.
