We used on a 2-3 times/ week basis, after 3 weeks, it is down.

I do not know if this is due to the 240 watts vs the 150 of the Hurom, but perhaps the design differences account for the Dash extracting more.

Just purchased a Hurom at a price more than $200 less than the Amazon price and tried it our with Kale, Carrots, Apple, and Cucumber and it worked well except I noticed the carrot pulp was wetter than I expected. I then went to clean it and there were pieces of kale in the discharge shoot that even using the tapered tip of the cleaning brush and a hard spray, I was unable to clean it out to my satisfaction.

So, I opened the Dash Stainless steel JB250 and processed the same 4 products and immediately noticed that although it was a bit louder than the Hurom, the pulp seemed dryer and without a doubt at all, the carrot pulp was far dryer and instead of being extracted in loose pieces like the Hurom, it expressed in a form similar to a rectangular shaped rope.

Without a doubt as well I was not able to fit all the juice in the cup I had used with the Hurom juicer and thus, it was very plainly evident that I had significantly more extraction with the Dash. I do not know if this is due to the 240 watts vs the 150 of the Hurom, but perhaps the design differences account for the Dash extracting more.

Although there was some Kale in the discharge shoot area, I was able to remove to my satisfaction using the tapered end of the brush and water spray far quicker than the Hurom.

As a result, even though I will end up paying $60 more for the Dash rather than the Under $140 price of the Hurom, I now have the Hurom boxed up and will return to the store first thing next week and will get a 3rd party extended warranty for the Dash.

Very nice juicer! Easy to use and considerably much quieter than my centrifugal style juicer (which I also like very much).
Thinking this will probably be my main juicer from here on out. Easy clean up.... just wash the catcher, pusher parts, strainer bowls, and dry.

My husband and I are doing the Reboot plan and did a lot of research before we bought our juicer. Decided to go with a slow, masticating juicer because we heard that they are the best for juicing leafy greens and most of the recipes we are using call for alot of kale and spinich.

Started the program the day after we bought this. I was so impressed by how dry the pulp came out. It really seemed to squeeze every single drop of liquid from my fruits and veggies. The directiions say you can re-run the pulp through to try and extract more juice, but we did not see the need to do this at all.

You definitley need to cut everything up into pretty small pieces or it does bog down a bit, but after that learning curve, everything went smoothly.

The only real complaint I have is with the screen. While the tiny holes make sure that no pulp or seeds get through at all, it can be a pain to wash. All of the other pieces come clean with just a scrub and running water, but the I can't seem to find a way to get all of the food out of the holes in the screen. The cleaning brush that is included does not do a very thorough job of getting into the holes.

I would definitly recommend this juicer!

This juicer is an excellent entry-level juicer. It performs much as I expect a higher-end model would. However, it does have its quirks. It does have a circular opening, which behind which is a fan, but other than that, there are no other openings in the case. If it is to help cool the motor, it is not very effective and the unit does get warm while it is working. The manual recommends running it for no longer than 30 minutes at a time. I would guess this is to allow the unit time to cool off. I would have expected some slots in an area underneath or on the back to allow for better air circulation for better cooling. For now, lack of such cooling slots does not seem to be causing a problem.

Second, while items like carrots and beets process without issue, fibers from things like wheat grass, celery, alfalfa sprouts, etc. do tend to jam up in the pulp ejection hole. I think it is just a little too small and the transition from a vertical to horizontal for the fibers is too much. It would work much better if the ejection occurred at a 45 degree angle pointed toward the output end of the pulp ejection tube instead of ejecting straight down. I think the rubber flap is to divert the pulp to eject it, but it seems to be less than effective. I have had to stop and clear jammed-up fibers, but I am getting better at figuring out how to cut and feed these so that the jams are less frequent.

That being said, I am happy with this juicer. It seems well-built. In the short time I have owned it, I have challenged it with a variety of soft and hard fruits and vegetables.

I just received this juicer today, I first discovered this juicer on HSN, I watched the demo on it and loved the idea of having a slow juicer and being able to make almond milk from home, I love Amazon and I adore my Prime shipping, so as usual, I checked Amazon first to make a purchase. To my surprise it was here and for more than half off of the price that HSN had it valued at. I guess I thought I scored a deal. Honestly, I read the reviews on Amazon, plenty of them were great, but a few were questionable, I remember reading a review that said "it was junk" and "wont turn on", I just wrote it off as that review being bad luck or user error. Well, actually, they were right! This juicer will not turn on. I followed the instructions, chopped up some vegetables (which by the way is another con), the actual feed tube in only 2" inches long by 1.5" wide, it will not fit a whole apple as I have seen with other juicers. I plugged in the juicer and hit the 'on' button, and nothing. I took it all apart and re-assembled, again nothing. I called Storebound customer service, they asked me if the lid was in the locked position, which it was, then they asked me if I had tried another outlet in my home, which I had, still nothing. Storebound/Dash offered to exchange the item for me, they will mail me a return packing slip, and once they received the product back, they will send me the same style back. They estimated the entire process to take about 2 weeks. I just don't see the point. Not sure how long these models have been sitting, but if a motor is useless before the end even consumer receives it, then I doubt a new one is going to last me much longer. Instead I am opting to return it to Amazon and use my refund towards a more reliable brand of juicer, even if I have to pay more, which is what I was initially trying to avoid by purchasing the Dash masticating juicer.
