ea. vol: 155p. (First Love Series). Silhouette. 1986. $1.95. LC number unavailable. In Ask Me No Questions, popular and athletic Kirk is obsessed with Logan O'Hara, but she won't give him the time of day. Then he discovers her secretshe lives in a beat-up Bonneville parked behind a supermarket, with her fat, alcoholic aunt and uncle. (How do all those people fit in the car?) The story ends with Logan discovering that her long-lost father is the high-school football coach. The plot is obviously the main weakness here. The same is true of A Dash of Pepper, which has a wooden, didactic plot. Pepper is attracted to computer genius Logan, but he has a long-time steady. Pepper's father puts pressure on her to drop her art studies and concentrate on science. After having what her mother tells her is an identity crisis, she does just that. The whole thing plods along relentlessly, and Pepper is exceptionally devoid of charm.
