Quote from a happy customer. 5-STARS ★★★★★
"What I really like about the Pro version is the facility to have SMS message content automatically spoken to me hands-free. It can also announce who the sender is if they are in my Contacts (either SMS or phone caller) and automatically switch on the speakerphone. These are brilliant facilities and the icing on the cake is that I can switch on auto-answer to callers from my Contacts. So in conjunction with the auto-speakerphone I have a complete hands-free system!"

This program does have its only being viewed in landscape, but for those who read the previous reviews and don't want to download because you have to force close, don't worry. On the main viewing screen, there is a pause keep it running in the background, and a close button know...CLOSE the program.

All in all this is a good program (for free). It's at least worth the download to try it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clarification July 15, 2011

The app itself is pretty cool. Works well on both my Galaxy Tab 7 and Galaxy S devices. I definitely recommend giving this a try. People on the Amazon app store are the whiniest bunch I've ever come across. Stop complaining about permissions, THE APP DESCRIPTION SAYS IT CAN ANSWER CALLS HANDS FREE AND READ TEXTS - this is why it needs access to contacts and SMS. reviews are to evaluate APP PERFORMANCE not exercise your unfortunate right to be the dumbest human alive. I really wish Amazon would take a moment to police the under 3* reviews.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's like Speed 2, only with a bus July 15, 2011
Verified Purchase
I'm a bit reluctant to write a review, given the vitriolic treatment previous reviewers have received, but here goes anyway.

When I first saw this app, I thought, "Oh, great, another version of Speed" (the Free App of the Day from June 29th). But while Speed only displayed a speedometer, and did absolutely nothing else, this app promises quite a bit more.

In addition to your speed, it displays bearing (either GPS-derived or magnetic if your phone has a compass), distance traveled, average and maximum speeds, trip duration, and acceleration, braking and cornering forces. It will warn you if you are exceeding a pre-set speed limit, or if you are exceeding certain G-force limits in your driving (this is labeled as "eco view"). It also has the ability to record audio and video, play music, read aloud incoming text messages, announcing incoming callers and automatically answer the phone based on your contacts list.

I installed this on both my HTC Evo 3D and my Motorola Xoom tablet. Most of the functions worked perfectly on both. I haven't tested the auto text or auto answer features, as I don't get that many calls or texts in a normal day.

On the Xoom, the dials take up only a small portion of the display; it would be nice if you could move some of the dials from the other screens onto just a single page for large screened tablets. When I tried to use the magnetic compass, it was off by 90 degrees (though I think this may be a flaw with the Xoom's design). And the acceleration dials never read anything other than 0, even when I tried swinging the tablet around abruptly.

On the Evo, the dials use most of the available screen real estate, but there is still a fair amount of empty space.

4.0 out of 5 stars neat app July 15, 2011

To everyone who can't close the app, try pressing the close button in the app and choosing exit from the pop up. The ability to record video is pretty cool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worked Well July 18, 2011
Verified Purchase
I got this program because 1) it was free at the time and 2) I was wondering if my speedometer on my car was accurate. I placed this up on my dash and watched it for about 20 minutes as I drove to work. It was accurate within a mile or two / per hour (it caught up a little slowly after quick stops or accelerations.)

The program worked well. I'm satisfied.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly good product. July 16, 2011

Wow there sure are a lot of stupid people on Amazon! This is a decent app that closes just fine if you're smart enough to know how to use a smart phone properly. I'm guessing that a lot of people expect their phone to be smarter than them, but come on people, use your brains and read before giving it a low rating! The app does exactly what is says it does, and I really like the way you can use the camera to have an overlay of the information. It may be a bit confusing at first, but with a little patience and thinking you can get the hang of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent addition to any car home application. July 16, 2011

An excellent addition to any car home application, especially one without a speedometer. Just add it as a shortcut on your car home app, that's what I did. Then you can switch to or launch it with the shortcut and press home to go back to your car home app. It always stays alive, actively logging unless you use its close button.

It does what is supposed to do and does it extremely well. I don't understand all the bad reviews.

5.0 out of 5 stars Um, hands free means the app, not the vehicle. July 15, 2011
Verified Purchase
If you think a GPS is a driving distraction, then by all means, don't download this app and use a paper map instead. If you think the gauges are a distraction, how in the hell do you drive any vehicle, as they all have gauges! And for God's sake, if you think this is an auto pilot, just leave this world now, cause you are absolutely too stupid to do anything!!
App does what it says it will do. Seems pretty good.
It seems to be a lot smarter than many of the reviewers.

2.0 out of 5 stars I didn't care for this app
It seemed to have too many limitations and didn't do what I had hoped it would. I haven't tried it in a while so maybe I'll see if the updates are better.

Good God people...I swear, if an app has one, tiny, minute, small thing it can be improved on, it's garbage. Really? Look what it says it does. It does those things. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars neat & useful app
This app is really neat because it gives immediate info on speed, gas mileage & other things. It's more correct than the car's info!
