The seller says this comes with a disk, it DOES NOT. there are no instructions at all. when i asked the seller about it, i was sent a link to download the software. again, NO INSTRUCTIONS WHATSOEVER. i managed to copy information from my xbox hard drive to my computer hard drive, but when i tried to "manage my data" as it indicates i should be able to, i ended up ruining my xbox hard drive. i snap it onto the console and the xbox does not recognize it any longer. this $20 product (which was only $10 on the sellers actual website) cost me about $100. i have not heard back from CE Compass since i told them that this didn't work and ruined my hard drive. i think they might me avoiding me, now... if anyone out there can figure this thing out, i'd appreciate any help... :(

You can get a real cable cheaper.,
This review is from: Data Transfer Cable for Xbox 360 HARD DISK DRIVE (Video Game)
You can get an official cable, which includes transfer software need to transfer from one HDD to another, for $15 + $5 shipping from Microsoft. Why pay more for a knock off cable and no software?

This review is from: Data Transfer Cable for Xbox 360 HARD DISK DRIVE (Video Game)
This is a ripoff. The software the send you a link for is an illegal copy of a different companies software. The software doesn't run under Windows 7 without crashing. The cable can be hooked up right or wrong, possibly damaging the hard drive. If you are trying to do an upgrade of your hard drive, just copy everything to a USB stick, and one your new hard drive is installed, copy it back from the USB stick. All DLC, games saves etc can be copied this way. Then just download your profile or copy that also if you want. These folks should be arrested for what they are doing. At a minimum, banned from Amazon. Like other reviewers said, if you want an transfer cable, just order it direct from MS. This cable is a sloppy fit. It looks nothing like what is in the picture on this site. --Bruce D. Meyer
