5.0 out of 5 stars As Advertised
This is a great ink refilling kit that really does as advertised. I was able to refill my Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 922 without much trouble even though there wasn't instructions for that particular model.

Will definitly order again when I run out of black ink. Plenty of ink for their prices.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great, sort of-- but not what was advertised
I've ordered this Ink Station product pictured in the listing twice (not sure if from same vendor). Just received second order today 1st class mail (requested normal shipping), 3 days after placing order. Good news-- 3 days with normal shipping; can't get better. Came with "cleaning solution" bottle, which I didn't get the first time. Bad news: I do not know what to...

Bought this to refill a Lexmark Z33. #1 I couldn't drill a hole into the cartridge with the little hand drill they give you: use a power drill. #2 Be patient. Just keep following the directions: soak the cartridge head in water as instructed if you have to: It may take a while to get the cartridge going again but it finally worked for me.

This item works as advertised. I'm using it on a canon printer. Don't let the inker get too low or the (low ink window) will keep popping up every time you print something. It is a little messy. While filling the cartridge from above the inker will leak from the bottom a little. It's not a big deal, just something to be aware of. I should get about 6 or 7 refills out of this. Now printing is fairly cheap.

Good refill kit, although now I know I don't need all the little accessories for my HP printer, just the ink bottle. But if you have another brand you'll need the little toolkit.

An incredible amount of fluid for such a small amount of money! Easy to use.

One thing, be very careful that your ink cartridge will 'allow' you to use refilled ink. Lexmark really rips off people with there specially licensed cartridges that somehow register the cartridge in the printer and know if it is dead. The industry is like that, so research before you get frustrated!

Just bought this along with the black kit to refill my HP 74 and 75 cartridges. Tried it the first time, and instructions were fairly clear. Just had to Google my cartridge number since they didn't have that model in their instruction booklet. However, I found it HP 74 is the same as HP 27, and they had instructions for HP 27. If you can't find your model number, look it up online.

Didn't have to drill any holes since the cartridge already had wholes underneath the label.

I'm sure that made it easier since drilling with the small tools they provided may have been difficult.

Overall, the quality of the inks was excellent. And refilling was clean and easy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inkjet Refill Kit for Canon Pixma ip3000, Canon BCI-3e, May 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dataproducts 60390 InkStation Multi-Brand Refilling Kit with Cap Remover -Black (Office Product)
I purchased the Dataproducts Inkjet Refill Kit on the advice of Consumer Reports. (This is for my old Canon Pixma ip3000 printer, using the Canon BCI-3e inkjet cartridges.) Dataproducts' kit was the only one that CR claims is easy to use, doesn't leak ink, etc. After reading the instructions I found that I was unable to depress the valve where I was supposed to insert the refill needle. I contacted customer support and they immediately answered the phone; they emailed me some further and more specific instructions for my particular cartridge. Still no luck. I phoned again and they suggested I return the kit for a refund. Since shipping was a substantial fraction of the total cost, I decided to try my luck with some more serious DIY ideas. I had picked up the idea of using a glowing hot paper clip to poke a hole in the cartridge & to fill it that way. I poked this hole on the part of the cartridge that is the hollow chamber that holds the ink (NOT the side that is filled with cotton), on the side that faces up when the cartridge is installed in the printer, under the label which I had peeled up. On one cartridge I used tape to seal the port that lets the ink out (the hole about the size of a pencil eraser that faces down when the cartridge is installed.) In another I used the original orange plastic cap that I had saved. Then I filled the empty part of the cartridge till it was about 80% full and I took my time, taking 2 - 3 minutes to fill it. I then sealed the little paper clip hole with a drop of glue from my hot glue gun. I let it set in my stainless steel kitchen sink for about 20 minutes to allow it to finish dripping and to allow the pressure within the chambers to equalize. (Both cartridges leaked regardless of how I had sealed the port.) Voila! both printed perfectly.
This will save me a lot of money and I'm happy I bought it. However I wound up using none of the tools that were included in this kit, only the accordian shaped plastic ink bottles with the attached hypodermic needles. If you could buy these elsewhere without the tools you'd save a couple of dollars. Also be forewarned that these cartridges leaked like crazy during refill (though not in the printer). So make sure you do this job in an area where you don't mind a mess or can easily clean it up. Also be sure to take your time putting the ink into the cartridge and give it 20 or more minutes to rest before using it. With that in mind, you can save a lot of bucks and get great looking prints on the Canon Pixma ip3000 if you don't mind a bit of a hassle.

The ink filled the cartridge quickly because of the side-dispence design of the tip. The black ink is a little darker than the original cartridge. For general use it is perfect. I have used ink refills before and this is the easiest and least messy I have used.

5.0 out of 5 stars saved me a ton of money!, March 10, 2010
This review is from: Dataproducts 60390 InkStation Multi-Brand Refilling Kit with Cap Remover -Black (Office Product)
This thing has saved me a ton of money. Easy to use and it works great. I find that I still have to replace cartridges after maybe 5-6 uses, but that's a lot better than one! Was a bit nervous the first time I used it, after hearing horror stories, mostly from people at the ink cartridge store, but I found it to be easy and painless. Once you get the hang of it, it's also very quick.
