5.0 out of 5 stars You love this!, January 9, 2002

This review is from: Datawaslost: Building (Audio CD)
This is a sweet collection of 14 sing-along, mostly home-recorded pop anthems brought to you by the folks who released the grossly overlooked Four Track Graduates comp last year. A must have for fans of mid-90s Guided by Voices, early 60s pop, and various Elephant 6 bands. Occasional folk and/or electronic leanings mix things up a bit.

While most comps are plagued with "throw-away songs," Building is very consistant, and each song stands out in it's own way. A soon to be indie rock classic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, January 11, 2002

they may all be pretentious indie rockers, but the pretention comes well deserved.. from the opening scale-climbing riff of post-haste's "new brighton the mighty," coltrane motions sampled-up and jiving classic "cant explain" and down on through compiler's folk woes of love in "ask no questions" and gossetts song of love, confusion and stability in "love can", this compilation brings in a new sound and a new hope for the dreary, drudging music scene.. the fresh sounds on this album could wake up even the most tired critic..
