3.0 out of 5 stars Ehhh
This book was ok, but I think most people already know the advice it has to give. Rather than reading this book, I think I'd be better off spending my time meeting people on an Internet dating site like match.com or catch27.com...these sites have more chance of curing my romance blues!

5.0 out of 5 stars ADD TO MY SHORT LIST OF GREAT DATING BOOKS!, October 28, 2003
By
This review is from: Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues (Paperback)
As a dating/relationship author I am always on the search for new information or alternative perspectives on my subject. I came across this author's work on the recommendation of one of my own customers.

At first (being a guy) I wasn't expecting to like the whole "Modern-Day Cupid" idea. But I must admit this book has a certain edge to it that I think practical dating people are going to find useful. This is not a "Dating For Dummies" type book with a million ideas thrown together, but more a focused guide on the most important things to work on.

The two authors have something like 45 years of professional matchmaking experience which, when you come to realize it, makes their advice worth paying attention to (They would not have stayed in business unless they could produce results.)

While most all dating/relationship authors say something about these prerequisites for love: 1) defining what you want, 2) developing self-confidence, and 3) becoming attractive, this book also points out how important it is to understand who you really are as a person. While this may sound very simplistic, the authors point out how many people haven't thought much about what makes them tick and what makes them feel happy/fulfilled.

The major reoccurring theme which I agree with wholeheartedly is that a man or woman must operate from a position of strength is order to have the relationship that they want. It is this strength (confidence, wisdom, centeredness, values, principles) that allows a dater to recognize the so-called "red flags" and act accordingly with their best interests in mind.

In a time when the dating public seems to be so misguided by pop culture advice, here's a thorough book based on extensive matchmaking experience that still has the wisdom, humor, and practical information to make your dating game winnable.

This is one of my new favorites in the dating/relationship genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ FOR SINGLES, December 16, 2002
By

This review is from: Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues (Paperback)
It seems like after I hit 30, I found myself mysteriously single. When I read this book, it was like a big "AHA!" All of a sudden I KNEW why I was still single. Since reading "Dating 101" my life has literally changed. Instead of going home to watch "Sex and the City," I'm actually out having dates. And I'm having a blast! I have so many different guys chasing me that I feel like my fairy godmother came down, waved her magic wand and changed me into a Homecoming Queen. I never knew my life could be so exciting.

Whoever said you can't get married after 30 is dead wrong. I was considering spending $2,000 with a dating service, but I just saved almost two grand by buying and reading this book. I can't thank the authors enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb! Very encouraging and informative!, December 10, 2002

As a single person, Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues has definately given me a more positive and optimistic outlook on dating. It has given me a hopeful approach to meeting that special someone. From my experience, dating can be very frustrating. Prior to opening myself to this book, my outlook on dating was a very pessimistic one. Thanks to Melissa Darnay, I am currently dating several wonderful people just by taking her advice and following some her simple dating techniques. I highly recommend this book to all of the single people out there. Once you buy this book, you'll be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Dating Book I've Ever Read, August 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues (Paperback)
Let's face it, there are a lot of dating books out there, and even more relationship books. I've read a lot of them, but this book stands out from the crowd. It's as interesting as a good novel, but it's full of great information. After reading at least 6 other dating/relationship books, I was amazed at how much new information was in this book.

If I had to recommend just one dating book to the millions of singles out there, this would be the book! If you can't find love after reading Dating 101, you're really not trying.

I especially like how Ms. Darnay makes everything so easy to understand. No "psychological mumbo jumbo" from her. Only straight talk from a real professional. My life changed immediately after reading it! I'm now more self-confident and am bombarded with women who want to date me. Life is good!!

4.0 out of 5 stars How to flirt, February 14, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues (Paperback)
It has some good ideas:
- How to flirt
- You should marry someone similar to yourself
- Wear a red dress (girls only)

That's all I really remember from the book. Sorry! It didn't make much of an impression. I am going to buy another copy of the rules, instead. This book is for both men and women. I bought this because of the great reviews. It says that you might one day wake up and really like one of your friends. That isn't ever going to happen to me. I know my tastes too well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Put It Down!, August 24, 2003
By

This review is from: Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues (Paperback)
I've been single for a long time, and I've had the chance to read a lot of different self-help books. This one is by far the best. It's entertaining, yet it hits the mark. I got this book on a Thursday and read the entire thing in just a few hours. Every page was full of useful advice. It wasn't just "great advice if you're gorgeous" or "would work well if you're outgoing" type of advice. This advice can really work for everyone.

After staying up late to finish the book, I took extra care when dressing on Friday to look my best. I went to work with a new attitude, and low and behold ... Ms. Darnay's advice really worked! Girls were flirting with me like never before. Maybe I was just receptive to it for the first time, but several women actually commented on how nice I looked. Instead of brushing it off like I used to do, I actually talked to them using this book's simple techniques. By the time I left work, I can honestly say I was a changed man. I saw first-hand how powerful these techniques are.

I've now read this book three times now, and I've even begun quoting it to my friends! Part of me wants to keep these easy techniques to myself, but as a former "geek," I feel like I need to help my friends.

The best part is that after only 3 weeks, I started dating a girl who becme my girlfriend. I can't believe how my life is changed, just from a simple book. It's the best investment I've ever made!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sound strategies for Dating Success, August 20, 2003
This review is from: Dating 101: The Instant Cure for Romance Blues (Paperback)
As an Author, Coach, and Motivational Speaker I read a lot of books about people, their motivations, and their relationships. I absolutely loved reading Dating 101 by Melissa and Zella. It's a keeper!

This handy paperback has all the traditional tips for dating about attitude, attire, and attraction and it's got more!

Advantages to buying Dating 101 include:

- learning unique strategies for dating that maximize your chances for finding a great mate,

- teaching you techniques that give you the power to lead the dating and mating dance,

- help for creating a lifetime of love instead of just figuring out how to jump into the dating pool.

As professional matchmakers with an astounding track record of success, these ladies know their topic well. They teach a proven system for getting you from Dating FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) to Dating Stud, or Stud-ette, as the case may be.

If you want to learn new ways to win at the dating game I highly recommend Dating 101. Buy yourself a copy today.
