Excellent Information on Methods for Dating Rocks and Fossils, January 6, 2008
DVD - Dating Fossils And Rocks - Mike Riddle In this DVD, Mr. Riddle shares the results of his much reading and research in the area of Carbon 14 dating, and explains the importance of Carbon 12 in conjunction with C-14. He explains in simple terms the molecular breakdown process. He also discusses other dating methods and the underlying assumptions the methods are based on, the correctness of which are brought into question. Mike is an interesting and dynamic speaker. His visual aids are excellent. Mike Riddle has degrees in mathematics and education. He's a former Marine, national decathlon champion, former technical specialist and manager for Microsoft, and teacher at ICR's graduate school. I recommend this DVD for ages 12 and older.

Great Introduction to the Reality of Dating Methods, February 2, 2012
This review is from: Dating Fossils and Rocks: Scientific Evidence and the Age of the Earth (DVD)
I believe that these reviews demand some sort of summary explaining why I believe this is even worth a minute of your time, and why you should ignore the 1 star reviews of this DVD. Take note of how the people who watch this DVD and rated it 5 stars all heard the information and agreed with it, and all the 1 stars heard the information and didn't agree with it. It doesn't matter whether or not you agree with the information in this video, but rather focus on what the content is (I never got why people give books and Dvds low ratings just because they don't agree with the outcomes). The content of this video is a case against the dating methods for fossils and rocks that are used by evolutionary scientists world wide, and Mike Riddle provides a great summary of the general beliefs of Creationist on these issues. First, Mike talks about radioactive decay and how carbon 14 is formed in the atmosphere, then he continues to talk about the actual c-14 dating methods before finishing off talking about the dating of rocks. As I said before, it doesn't matter whether or not you agree with the information in this video, but rather focus on what the content is. This DVD has the true information that you need to hear about dating rocks and fossils using evolutionary methods, regardless of whether or not you agree with his Creationist-like outcome. Mike is also very easy going and uses very general terms so as not to confuse new-comers to the topic. I recommend this for all.

Waste of time and money, January 22, 2012
This review is from: Dating Fossils and Rocks: Scientific Evidence and the Age of the Earth (DVD)
The authors of this DVD use cynical manipulation of words to convince the viewer that the Biblical age of Earth is right. They doubt the carbon dating method, which is acceptable in itself, but they give you nothing instead. Their reasoning goes as following: if the carbon dating is not precise, then the Bible must be right. They provide no plausible scientific alternative whatsoever and ignore obvious geological data and common sense in order to justify the Biblical age of Earth. I found this DVD a complete waste of time and money. I was hoping to learn more about fossils, but learned really nothing, apart from "Earth must be young, because the Bible says so". Don't be confused by the title and the image on the cover, it's NOT about fossils.
