5.0 out of 5 stars Filled with great gems!
This is a fun movie filled with moments that are very entertaining and that you will find you want to share with your friends, co-workers, etc. A good film to watch with a group of friends or the person you hope will be more. the characters are well-developed and intriguing and it is fun to see our understanding of them develop as the film progresses. 2.0 out of 5 stars I must have watched a different movie...
Nick is having bad luck finding the girl of his dreams. He wants to get married and settle down, but the women aren't quite meeting the standards of his parents. They suggest that he date a while to find out what he really wants. All the while, he's trying to get his business up in the air after his investor backed out on him.

Jed is not doing much better...

For those in Southern California, you will especially enjoy seeing all of the local orange County sites used as scenes for this film (including the late, great, Balboa Fun Zone). I agree with the other reviewer that this is a terrific film for the price. it is also a good gift - I bought four copies to share.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldnt stop laughing, February 12, 2008

This movie has the charm of a small, independent film, but is professional and extremely funny. Some parts of the movie I cant stop talking about. Definitely worth the bargain price of $14.00 price on Amazon. Highly recommended!

I loved this movie. It was fun to watch, funny and the acting and writing were great. Characters and situations were convincing and I would recommend to anyone in the mood for a good friend/couple movie. I can see buying copies for gifts.

My girlfriend and I watched this one weekend. I hadn't heard about this film so I wasn't expecting much. I laughed out loud numerous times. In fact, my girlfriend got a kick out of me enjoying the film so much. The film highlights the different perspectives that men and women have about dating and relationships. It has a well thought out story and there are some funny scenes/moments that you just don't see coming. I think anyone who has been out in the "dating scene" will really relate well to this film...it's hilarious.

They suggest that he date a while to find out what he really wants. All the while, he's trying to get his business up in the air after his investor backed out on him.

Jed is not doing much better than Nick with women. Though his professional life is going much better than his personal life, being a successful book author who lies and says that he's unemployed so the women don't make fun of him.

Mona is someone who also wants to find someone and settle down. She and her friend, Robin, meet regularly after bad/good dates to have wine or eat ice cream and talk about the details. When Mona meets Nick, things seem to go smoothly for a while, but Nick has issues. Robin meets Jed and starts to become interested in him. Will any of them go on to be in a successful relationship?

It surprises me that I read such positive reviews about this movie. It's not so much that the writing was horrible, but I was reminded of Kissing Jessica Stein or Next Stop Wonderland through some of the dating scenes, which means that some of the jokes weren't very original. I liked them the first time I heard them, in those other movies, but it's almost if they were recycled and words were moved around to be made new again. I did laugh at times, but some parts just made me squirm and I was finishing the lines the same time as some of the actors.

The acting also left something to be desired. On a lighter note, I think that the best actor in the movie, was the one who played Tommy, the man who worked in the store and who went out on a date with Robin. He was hilarious, and I loved watching his facial expressions.

Other than that, I didn't really enjoy the movie as much as I wanted to, and my boyfriend fell asleep halfway through.
