5.0 out of 5 stars Simply WOW!
Right to the point. Covers all areas about relationship issues we have with men. And boy, do we got it all messed up. I had no idea men are this dislocated from what is really going on with us women...But if you follow some of the straight forward advice from Steve, you may get the relationship you want outta the guy.

Very informative without beating around...

I don't know who the other reviewers of this book are, but...what are they thinking?? This book is fine if you are a teenager but for anyone with any experience with the dating world, it is basically a rehash of just plain common sense. Follow good personal hygiene? Dress in a sexy manner? Don't be negative? PLEASE! He mentions 10 sneaky things that men do to women on...

4.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!, December 18, 2005

I often tell women, "If there is something you want to know about men, ask a man." I purchased Steve Nakamoto's first book, "Men Are Like Fish" and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. Now, with his latest book, "Dating Rocks", he has a new masterpiece! This book forces women to look at themselves first and to face the truth about their relationship habits/choices. The fact that it is written by a man enriches the book even more. I was stunned to my core when I read about a certain type of relationship Steve warns women to abstain from and it is the type of relationship I repeatedly found myself in. I was finally able to free myself from this type of relationship only a year ago. I've wasted a lot of time in the wrong types of relationships but I am now breathing a breath of fresh air and looking forward to being in love one day real soon. Thanks Steve - God bless!

Don't waste your time with this book. It just doesn't deliver on its promise of helping women date successfully.

5.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK & MAKE YOUR LOVE LIFE SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL!!, October 2, 2006
By
Robin Gorman Newman "author, HOW TO MARRY A M... (www.LoveCoach.com & www.MotherhoodLater.com) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dating Rocks!: The 21 Smartest Moves Women Make for Love (Paperback)
This is an empowering book for women with all the right intentions....but their socializing efforts just aren't leading them to meet Mr. Right.

Dating Rocks! tells it like it is from a man's perspective...with honesty and constructive advice. It's not that a man is dictating what to do, but rather, he is sharing what he sees...reflecting on the common faux pas women make but are often unaware of. Examples in the book are mostly women's stories of challenge, with four female contributors, so the book offers a unique and balanced perspective....not just reflecting the author's take on things.

Nakomoto provides strategic guidance on how to live your best life so you can attract a soulmate who will stand the test of time. And, a big part of that is knowing how to present yourself by making the most of your assets, and living fully and more spiritually. He is right in suggesting that this will make you that much more irresistible and self confident.

"What To Do Now" sections provide constructive steps the reader may take, and he even offers a free Bonus Special Report. Cool extra for gals looking for that much more!.

The book's format is very accessible, and it's smartly written. I especially like the charts and light-hearted illustrations, making Dating Rocks! a worthwhile read that treats a serious subject for singles with a smile. With this book in hand, you can truly shake up your social life for the better!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Power of Positive Thinking, October 20, 2006

How delightful to have another title from the author of one of my most indispensable books, "Men Are Like Fish," which was so important to me that I ended up buying it twice (my second-hand copy was missing a few key pages, so I happily ordered one brand new).

As I am now reading "Dating Rocks" for the second time, I am reminded that the overall effect of reading Steve Nakamoto is a welcome boost of optimism. And if there is any realm in which a negative outlook is poorly rewarded, it's romance. As an unexpected bonus, I was motivated to become a better friend, sister and daughter as well as lover.

These books are useful even to those not currently pursuing relationships for the sheer pleasure of being reminded that we can be happy or sad during our one shot at life, so why not chose the brighter way?

I was disappointed with this book. I wanted tips (after a long term relationship break-up) to get back into dating. I wasn't looking for a book on self esteem. Tips such as: stop living to please others, practice compassion, learn to laugh at yourself (I did that one a long time ago) are good self improvement tips, but if I wanted that kind of advice, I would read (again) Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People--a classic that hasn't been surpassed IMO. I wanted dating tips.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a FIVE STAR Book, April 19, 2006
This review is from: Dating Rocks!: The 21 Smartest Moves Women Make for Love (Paperback)
As I was reading Dating Rocks, I realized how blindly we go into dating. I was thinking back to my dating days and wondering why some of these things didn't even occur to me and my friends. Not only that, but there is so much more we could never have known on our own. There would have been less wasted time and heart ache all around.

Dating Rocks offers new foresight on all the bad dates that can be avoided and what will attract more rewarding dates. Steve Nakamoto brings to light things we don't normally think about while dating such as; how the things we do come across to men and how we can determine, in a very short time, whether a man is worthy of a future date. He gives us a step-by-step strategic approach to dating that is easy to follow.

I also enjoyed the lighter side of the book. The cartoons are a fun way of bring life to the subjects. And a huge bonus to Dating Rocks is that it's full of insider tips about men. This book will give even the most nervous woman the confidence she needs to make smart decisions about her love life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dating Direction!, April 6, 2006
This review is from: Dating Rocks!: The 21 Smartest Moves Women Make for Love (Paperback)
I am not the type of woman that believes that "dating books" are condescending towards all womankind. I don't think that any author that spends their energy and time writing about dating (especially a good book like this one) believes that. That is why this book is a great read for those still in the dating game - it can really change your perspective and give you much needed direction towards achieving your goals.

Is your goal to catch a man? Probably not. But if your goal is to go on positive and enjoyable dates, with the hopes of finding a sustainable and rewarding relationship, then Dating Rocks is for you.

Mr. Nakamoto gives you a pretty structured look at the things that would be most beneficial to women when it comes to meeting and dating men. And structure and direction is what you need if you are serious about your love life. Treat your love life like any other part of your life - with intensity, a desire to succeed, and professionalism, and you are bound to find the right person for you.

It's not a "Bible" of the right way to do things or a silly "rules" book, but if you are all over the place right now, unfocused, and unsure with what you are doing - get this book to help you put together your own personal blueprint of how to create a much more rewarding dating life. Much success!

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK ROCKS!, January 13, 2006

This review is from: Dating Rocks!: The 21 Smartest Moves Women Make for Love (Paperback)
This book touched on several important facets of a relationship and what pitfalls to look for in every developing stage. It focuses on the positive person YOU need to be in order to find the person you deserve. Makes alot of sense! It talks about having confidence and enough self esteem to carry on a healthy relationship and how so many of us look in the wrong areas to find men (or women) to spend a lifetime with. I did not want to put this book down and found some things in it to be quite humorous at times! Weening out the bad apples is hard and painful but necessary in the quest for finding your soulmate.
It seemed that alot of what I read was talking about ME and my own previous BAD choices and how I kept meeting the wrong kind of men (until now) and alot of the negative feelings I had about myself reflected that in the men I met along the way.
I would recommend this book to anyone who seriously wants to know the secrets to finding and keeping that special someone by first loving yourself before you can find someone to love.

-Informative, Insightful, Very helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY! A MAN WHO UNDERSTANDS!, January 6, 2006
This review is from: Dating Rocks!: The 21 Smartest Moves Women Make for Love (Paperback)
The book offers great insight to women trying to understand and succeed in the dating game. With a touch of humor and strong doses of common sense, the book's easy to read style leads the reader through practical "do's" and "don'ts" when trying to find a meaningful relationship. I loved the definitions and his "honest male perspectives" offered at the beginning of each chapter. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
