Book Description

1855205483 978-1855205482 February 3, 2001
Datsun built its first car in 1912 but it was not until 1959 that it built its first sports car. The 1500cc S211, the Fairlady, soon gave way to the SP213. The New Fairlady, announced in 1962, was restyled and came with a larger engine. The 1600 came in 1965 and the 2000 ohc in 1967 complete with five-speed overdrive gearbox. The cars were a great success but are little known outside of the specialist circles. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specification and technical data, driver's impressions and buying used. Models covered include: Fairlady, SPL 310, 1600, 2000.

1.0 out of 5 stars I would never have believed it if..., November 6, 2007

I'd never have believed it were I not looking at it right now.

Okay... first: It is about the only book I have found, so if you just must have something then this will have to do.

But...

Do not expect quality for your $20. It looks like somebody pulled together every photo-copied article and ad they could find and made second, third and fourth generation copies themselves.

Think old black and white copier in need of lots of service. Low quality print. All black and white photos. Some photos/pages cut-off at edges of page.

The book seems like it will hold together well enough, but who would care?

Pitiful quality.

I got this while waiting for my 1969 Datsun to be shipped from California. It's good eye candy, decent reference, and a great view of how the car was percieved when still available new. I'd recommend it for anyone considering this neat little car.
