Hatshepsut novel not quite up to par,
This review is from: Hatshepsut: Daughter of Amun (Paperback)
I have been interested in Hatshepsut since as long as I can remember. I read Joyce Tyldsley's biography on her, and have even made my way to Hatshepsut's temple in Egypt. I was very excited when I ordered this book, but the novel fails to deliver in many aspects: plot, dialogue, believability, research, and most of all, editing. I am a huge fan of Egyptian novels, reading basically anything I can get my hands on, from Pauline Gedge to Brad Geagley and Michelle Moran. But for true fans of historical fiction who want accuracy and well-written novels, I would unfortunately give this one a skip.

I found this book to be too slow and not enough dialog to make me feel a part of the book. It is interesting in some ways, just wasn't for me.

Book wonders off into the religions of ancient Egypt. Too much about being able to communicate with and see the gods.
