What is Dad Hair? According to Craig Lawrey it's, "A style in which hair is arranged so that it is obvious that an unskilled stylist (namely the male paternal figure) is responsible." It's a disaster. A tragedy. In other words, the poor kid has...dad hair!

When Craig contacted me about doing a review for his book I knew I had to read it, for tucked in my photo album is a picture of my oldest daughter when she was 7 years old. It was picture day at school but I was in the hospital ready to have child #3. Since I wasn't around, Dad had to get her ready that day. Instead of the pretty dress I asked him to put on her, he let her wear her favorite T-shirt. And, yes, she had the dreaded Dad Hair. This frozen moment in time will forever make me grateful that I asked my mom to get the kids ready for school when I was having child #4 and #5.

In this photo my daughter is supposed to be sporting the then popular "side ponytail." Instead, it's very near her forehead looking more like a unicorn horn. Well, imagine my laughter when I got Craig's book and saw on the cover a disgruntled looking girl with the same horn protruding from her head!

Guys, this is an epidemic. As much as you love your daughters, you cannot do hair worth fiddlesticks! Running a brush through it and leaving it au natural isn't the way to go either. Sympathetic moms all over the world can spot these kids. These children are walking around looking as if they've lived their entire lives with a pack of wolves in the forest and have just now ventured out into society.

Craig's book "Does Your Daughter Have Dad Hair?" will fix all of that! Through step-by-step instructions and clear photos you dads can learn how to properly brush your daughter's (or granddaughter's, or niece's) hair without causing too much pain. You'll learn how to do a ponytail and even the mind-boggling braid. It's really not hard once you practice, and this book leaves no stone unturned.

But is dolling up your daughter's hair all he talks about? Nope. He also stresses the importance of bonding time with your little princess during these home-salon sessions. These are precious moments, guys, don't waste them by neglecting your daughter's locks and allowing her to run around looking like the dreaded cave child. Take some time whenever the opportunity presents itself to tend to your daughter's hair, interact with her, find out how she's doing, how she's feeling, and avoid the unicorn horn forever!

I love this book so much that even though I have no kids, I just had to buy it for SOMEONE! And now they love it, as well.

Love this book, especially how the author talks about the importance of bonding with your daughter and giving her self-esteeme while working on her hair. As a daughter whose (bald) dad did her hair when she was young, I was touched by the stories as well as the practical and fun advice. Great book for any dad with a duaghter!

I got this book for a baby shower for a dad-to-be (don't forget about the dads!!) and if we ever have a girl, I would absolutely buy it for my own husband! It's too funny and too true. I'd hate to see the creation my husband would make if I wasn't around, haha. The book has pictures and great step-by-step instructions for brushing hair without pain, ponytails, braids, etc. It also talks about the great bonding time this creates for father and daughter, which I think is perfect. I think a little girl would be so proud to say her hair was done by her daddy!

My twin daughters love pulling out the book and showing me how they want their hair. Great way to bond with your daughters.

Absolutely wonderful book! Deals with the dilemma of doing a girl's hair so that she doesn't end up going to school a mess!
A must have for any father or grandfather! Great gift idea for the holidays or new father.
This book even gave this old Mom some tips to make my mornings run smoother with my daughter's hair.
BTW...the model in this book is simply a stunning child!

This book is a great, informative book and would be especially nice as a gift for those stay at home dads, single parent dads, grandfathers or just anyone whose never ventured into the unknown area of keeping a young daughter's hair looking its best; which by the way is important to girls even at an early age. The book goes into detail and has several example of favorite hairstyles. I would recommend this book.
