Romance review today - "Mandy M. Roth writes a dark paranormal with intriguing characters and a few surprises along the way...if you like your stories with a little bite to them, then DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS is the book to read."

"Hot-blooded with lots of extras" just barely describes this new novel containing murder, mystery and romance just edging this side of erotic. Mandy M. Roth combines great characters and awesome story lines to create a wonderful, on-the-edge-of-your-seat read."--Amanda Kimbrell, Myshelf.com

4 1/2 Roses--"I was enthralled from the first paragraph to the last. Good writing, an intriguing plot, and definitely character driven, Daughter of Darkness is an attention grabber to say the least. Mandy M. Roth seduces the reader as surely as the master vampire seduces Gwen." A Romance Review

Mandy M. Roth grew up fascinated by creatures that go bump in the night. From the very beginning, she showed signs of creativity--writing, painting, telling scary stories that left her little brother afraid to come out from under his bed. Combining her creativity with her passion for the paranormal has left her banging on the keyboard into the wee hours of the night.

She's a self-proclaimed Goonie, loves 80s music and movies and wishes leg warmers would come back into fashion. She also thinks the movie The Breakfast Club should be mandatory viewing for... okay, everyone. When she's not dancing around her office to the sounds of the 80s or writing books she can be found designing book covers for NY publishers, small press and indie authors.

Mandy has been #1 on Amazon's Author Rank and on Amazon bestseller lists numerous times. Mandy writes for Harlequin Spice, The Raven Books, Samhain Publishing, Ellora's Cave Publishing, Pocket Books, Running Press and Random House/Virgin/Black Lace.

I'm really surprised at the previous reviews of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes there were some mistakes here and there but thats what an editor is for, and sometimes they miss bits. Overall I loved the story. Once you get used to Mandy's writing style (as with any new author) it's a wonderful story. I'm currently 1/2 way through book 2 in this series and I'll say this it is awesome. Way better. Way more going on. The first book had to fill in a lot of backstory. The second flows better because you already know all the details of Gwen's past. anywho back to this book. The dynamic between Gwen and Pallo at first is a little edgy but you grow to like him, and Caleb...whoa mama, steamy steamy steamy. I like the idea of her having an unknown past life that slowly comes into focus. Then again I'm a sucker for a good story

ps Mandy youre not supposed to be reading your reviews, skee daddle. dammit. I'm not writing this for you.

This was a good series to get into. This book has a little bit of everything supernatural in it from witches to vampires, trolls to faeries. It covers all bases and gives them all personalities that are believable and endearing. I have not read any books by this author before but I have really enjoyed this series so far. I can't wait to see where the next book takes me. I give it four stars.
The many characters in this story were varied and well developed. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know all of them. We are introduced to Ken, Gwen's boss and ex-fiancée, Pallo a master vampire who owns a supernatural theme park, Caleb who is a faerie and a supernatural bounty hunter and Giovanni who is also a master vampire and who sired Pallo. I felt that we got to know each of them as the story went along with Gwen. I also enjoyed the secondary characters in this book as well. The only complaint is I really wish I got to know more about James, another vampire. Maybe he will be in the next books!!
The love triangles are well written as well as the more steamy scenes. Gwen finds herself torn between several different men and is unable to commit to just one or let any of them go. Every time she thinks she is certain she has chosen something else comes up or she finds herself drawn to another. There is one threesome in this book. It is an M/F/M no male on male scenes. There seems to be someone trying to force Caleb and Gwen together but who knows who she will pick or if she will pick just one. There is also still a lot of tension between Ken and Gwen.
The interactions and overall plot of this book was very well written. I found a couple typos but not many and it was not something that took away from the book. The villain was a surprise for me as well as several other things along the way. All in all this was a very good book.

This is a wonderful paranormal romance but can also be catagorized as mystery because mystery abounds in this fast paced, thrilling read. Daughter of Darkness is the first book in this series of the same name. The protagonist, Gwyneth or Gwen, is a magic born faerie raised by humans to protect her from her past life. Gwen finds herself in a love triangle with Pallo, an Italian vampire and Caleb, a faerie bounty hunter. She works for her ex-fiance, Ken, a powerful prosecuting attorney, who tasks her with investigating the hellhound murders that are terrorizing their city.

Gwen first meets Pallo then Caleb. Two men she is drawn to and feels she already knows them. Her adventure leads her to know why her connections are so strong with these men and why she must have them in her life.

There are several typos in this book. I encourage you to overlook them. It will be worth it.

I am a big fan of Mandy Roth's work. The lady knows how to write a hot sex scene which I look forward to reading. But more that sex we get a really entertaining story. I'm excited to read the other books in this series.

This book had my attention front front to back...it had a little bit of everything, I loved the characters & the relationships that developed, even the love triangle caught between 3 men all of diff realms, the whole story in my opinion was genius of the author to incorporate so much in such a small amount of space..I didnt feel cheated at all, of course I say this ONLY because theirs a part 2 & 3 & I am sure I will be wishing for part 4..just starting book 2, everythings good so far! ♥

I have read other books by this author & was greatly disappointed in this one. The following book in this series is a little better but #3 was the first one I actually enjoyed. They all seemed written in a hurry w/o many details for background or character development. They were all 3 very shallow, boring & just were plain not well written. I could never get interested in the characters (main & secondary) to care enough about them. I am sorry now I bought all 3 at the same time.
