Product Description

FROM THE BACK COVER:
...In a breath, she was condemned...

Ever since her mother nearly destroyed their village with outlawed magic, Elena has wanted nothing more than to raise her only child in peace. But that peace is shattered when she calls the Breath to save her daughter’s life. . .

...In a race against hope...

When her daughter is ripped away from her, she is forced to confront her hatred of her mother, the Breath, and her drunken, ex-hero of a husband as she races across the country to steal her daughter back from the two most powerful men alive. But the Duke and the Overlord each have their own plans for her. . .

...That only one can win...

A pawn in a game of thrones, she must find a way to rescue her daughter and defeat them both. If she can not, the entire world will pay the price.

REVIEWS:
From Michael A. Stackpole, New York Times Bestselling Author of I, Jedi:
Lonnie Ezell introduces heroic fantasy fans into a brand new fantasy world reminiscent of the worlds of Jennifer Roberson and Melanie Rawn. The characters are well written and have depth, like Elena who possesses powers thought evil by most people, and who resists using them except in the most dire of circumstances. The world feels familiar and yet fresh, with magic and politics which, when woven together, provide an urgent and Byzantine plot that races along. This is not a book that will disappoint.

From Jason Schulte, The Nut Gallery Review:
This book pulls you in like your lungs pull in air. This book should come with a caution on it that says once you pop it open you can’t stop yourself from reading it. The most wonderful thing about this book is the pictures that Mr. Ezell paints with his words. I could almost here the boots on the stone paths of Harts Haven and smell the wax in Elena’s shop. The characters come alive and make you care about their well being. You want the best for them and at times I could feel myself almost willing the story along, trying to help them on their journey. It has been many years since a book has caused my heart to race and this book did it more than once. If you are looking for a fantasy book to pull you in and to wrap its reality around yours, then this is the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating and entertaining, June 14, 2007

The book has fascinated and enraptured my two little girls- ages 9 and 12. The adventure is riveting because it involves fantasy, magic and adventure. The story involves a family of four split up from birth of the young ones to later play a role in the 'big adventure', and the uniting of that family towards the end of the story. I can't say enough for the book and the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take a Chance, you won't be sorry., June 13, 2007
This review is from: Daughter of the Sun (Paperback)
I have been waiting for this to be available for a long time. I came across this author through his other pursuits (the dragonslanding pocast). Little did I know that he was capable of weaving such a tale. A story with rich characters and a plot that keeps you on the edge waiting to see what will happen next. I am enjoying it very much. My only regret is not having taken a chance on him when I had the opportunity to get this in hardcover format. If you don't want to take my word for it, go to www.lonnieezell.com and listen to his podiobook version of the story for yourself. Then you will be hooked just like I was.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new World to explore and a great author to discover, June 14, 2007

Lonnie Ezell has created a fascinating adventure in an imaginative world and has filled it with well-developed characters. Many iconic elements are here, but he has combined them and presented them in a unique way. The podcast novel version is also great.
