5.0 out of 5 stars 5th Novel: An Exciting New Adventure, April 5, 2000
By
Tamsen L. Foote (Iowa City, IA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Daughters of the Misty Isles (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the book series I was named for. Tamsen, the brave and loveable yet hardheaded character and star of the Aola Vandergriff Daughters series.

Tamsen is only one of the stars of the Daughters series. You get to know all the characters well. Her sisters: Emmeline and Arabella. Her lover: Daniel Tallant, adventurer and just too darn sexy for his own good! Her friends: Dusty, the affectionate tipsy Brit, Nell, the dirtymouthed cantina friend, and others along the way. I love this series simply for the character development. I've never felt more in love with Dan, more friendly with Nell, or more outraged at Arab's stupidity.

You follow the girls through history, which makes the novel all the more fascinating! Here, during Aola's 5th book, you watch the girls in different parts of the world (Mainly England) but end up in Hollywood during the movie age in the final book. You'll grow to love these characters, love their natures, and wholeheartedly enjoy this series. I recommend this novel with 5 stars-- and if you've never read it, start today and fall in love with Tamsen and Dan, and all their crazy adventures!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nell a Lady, Luka in love and Dusty's look-a-like., December 3, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Daughters of the Misty Isles (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the fifth book in the series about the daughters: Emmeline, Tamsen and Arabella. Emmeline is now living in San Francisco along with her husband and son, Scott. Missy moved along with them when they left Australia to go to college. The family is done to just a few living in England. Everyone is spread around the world. Ramona is living in Scotland and makes a couple appearances in the book, as well as her husband and children. But the book deals mostly with Arab selfish ways of thinking. Luka falls in love with Alastair Forsythe, whom Arab sees as a monster. Dan and Juan visit Bombay with work from the Queen of England. During the book you will meet Phillip Winston, Dusty's look-a-like cousin. Is he really the nice guy he appears to be around Nell or is he hidding something. Luka also appears to have a capablity of talking to the people in the Wotherspoon Family Graveyard. She knows things about the past of this place that she couldn't possibly know. This book is filled with scandal, swindeling, hatred, love, marriage and most of all, family unitity. You'll either love the characters that appear in this book or you'll hate them. From the very beginning you'll be engolfed in this new main character - Luka. Once you have finished your stay in England, you can journey to California to visit the rest of the family, in Daughters of the Shining City.
