Book Description

March 2, 2001
Jimena was once the toughest chola in East L.A. No longer in a gang, she is still feared by many. Nothing scares Jimena. Nothing, that is, except the reappearance of Veto, who was once the love of her life. That terrifies her, because Veto was killed a year ago by a rival gang. Or was he? Jimena discovers that he has made a devil's bargain, which could cost both of them their lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jimena has to face a familliar figure from her past, April 7, 2001
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #3: Night Shade (Hardcover)
Everyone knows Jimena as one of the must stubborn and bravest members of the daughters of the moon, but in this book we learn how she got her bravery. Before Jimena found out she was a Goddess she was one of the toughest girls in a gang. Everyone was afraid of her and she knew it. But now that she's shed her bad girl past, a famillar face is comign back to haunt her. It's Veto, a long lost dead boyfriend from her past. What is Veto? Is he real? Did he ever die? Is he back for good? Or is he just an evil tool of the atrox set out to destroy the goddesses. Jimena dosen't know but she's about to find out.

Like the last two books in the series Night shade is exciting and a page turner. I toatally reccomend this book for fans of the series and the supernatural. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, The Secret Scroll, which stars Catty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Night Shade, March 30, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #3: Night Shade (Hardcover)
In Night Shade, Cassandra, a Follower is planning to take down the Daughters of the Moon. She even goes back to the past to change an event but you don't know what has been changed because it is already something in their past and as Catty says in the book, you can't change something in the past unless it was already meant to be. The weird thing is that Veto, Jimena's past love, appears who you think is already dead. Then you learn that Veto made a pack with the Atrox so that he could be with Jimena because they said that nothing would separate them, including death. This is a great book and I recommed it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jimena follows her heart straight to Tartarus., March 28, 2001

Clarissa (Harvey, LA Harvey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #3: Night Shade (Hardcover)
Before Jimena Castillo found out about her true identity, she was part of a gang and considered the toughest chola in East L.A. But after finding her true identity as a Daughter of the Moon and why she has the power to see into the future, she started to rebuild her life. Everything was going pretty good until the love of her life, Veto, came back to her. The problem with this is that Veto has been dead for a year. Veto claims that he has been alive the entire time, but Vanessa, Serena, and Catty, the other three Daughters of the Moon, think he is working for the evil Atrox. Jimena insists that they are wrong. But when her love for Veto leads her to Tartarus, a dark abyss below Earth's surface, will she be able to fight the anger in her heart or will she give into it? If she does give into her anger she will make the Atrox so powerful that even the Daughters of the Moon would be unable to stop it. This book was a great addition to the Daughters of the Moon series, and if you liked the first two you should definitely read this one.
