3.0 out of 5 stars Way better than its predecessors
This is the best in the series so far. (I am currently reading the 5th book) Ewing's portrayl of Catty is the most realistic and fully realised. She even comes across well in the other books, her character is always well defined and unconfused. This book also focuses a little more on the technicalities of being a moon goddess than any of the others and sounds far less...

5.0 out of 5 stars A thrilling book from the series., May 9, 2001
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #4: The Secret Scroll (Hardcover)
Even though she loves Kendra, the woman who raised her as her own daughter after finding her abandoned in the desert, Catty has always longed to discover who her birth mother is. She hopes that would help her unravel the mystery of her past and her lost memories. But what Catty never expected was a shocking call from the morgue - where the body of a woman they had proof was her birth mother was being held. Catty wants to know - who is her mother? How did she die? Why are the evil Regulators, who serve the Atrox, suddenly after her? And most of all - what is the secret scroll given to her by a mysterious stranger, and how will it help her defeat the Atrox? Catty must enter into a race against time in order to unravel these many mysteries - because her life depends on it. This was a thrilling continuation of the supernatural series Daughters of the Moon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Catty!, December 18, 2001
By
"teenagebookworm" (Scottsdale, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #4: The Secret Scroll (Hardcover)
This book, The Secret Scroll, was a bit of a difficult desicion on my part. I loved the book, but had a hard time deciding between four and five stars to give it. I rounded it up and ave it five.
This book solvs a bunch of questions for me about Catty. In this one, Catty discovers her past, which she had not known anything from when she was younger than six, when she was found on the side of the highway by catty's adoptive mother, Kendra. This book tells who her mother was (although not much about her father.) It also tells somewhat about her life before she was six. It also discribes her two lone memories of before she was six, one of a crash, another of a fire. While finding this out, Catty is handed a scroll from an anonyumus person that is key in destroying the Atrox. During this, Catty also is worried that her boyfriend is hiding something from her, and gets in a fight with Vanessa about vanessa's new boyfriend. With all this to juggle, Catty has little time to think, much less use the scroll like the mysterious person demands her to.
This book was wonderful, but my only problem was how predictable it was. I knew instantly who the "mysterious" figure was, and could tell right away the other "secret" person in this book who was suposed to be a surprise. But I still gave it five stars because I believe it deserved it! REad this book and discover all the things you ever wanted to know about CATTY!

I have been a fan of this series for a year now and I have written 2 other reviews on this series. I'm so afraid that catty's father is stanton wouldn't that be freaky her father dating her friend but any way catty's boy Chris is sooo cool though I think he's up to something yea but you have to read it first. These books make me want to cry and laugh all at the same time waiting for the next is always excruciating! September I have to wait till September I think in going to like the 5th one the best of all because I have inkling that the main character is Stanton my favorite character I love him!!! If you've read any of my reviews before you would know that all ready. Lynne please don't kill of Stanton he's an innocent no matter that the atrox made him do!

I read the first three books thinking, when is a book going to be on Catty? Then i read this book. Catty is like a rainbow - you never know what she is going to be today (red, orange, yellow, ext.) Then she is having Boyfriend trouble, while her best friend is dating a creep. Then mysterious stranger comes up and hands her a scroll, telling how to defeat the Atrox (an ancient evil), all while trying to fool the dangerous Regulators. Then she meets her mom by going back in time and finds out some very disturbing things.

I really liked this book.I finished it the day i got it. catty and vanessa are my favorite charectors(i dont think i spelt that right lol) well its basically about how catty gets a secret scroll from a mysterious stranger (i knew who it was all along lol but i wont say) the scroll says how to destroy the atrox the problem is that there is a supposed curse on it and anyone that touches is it could die plus catty cant read it! so thats not that good.Plus catty gets closer to the truth about her real mother, and has to face regulators.anyone that hasnt read it should!!! i cant wait to the next ones! ....

5.0 out of 5 stars Secret Scroll, May 9, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #4: The Secret Scroll (Hardcover)
The Secret Scroll was by far the best in the series so far. The books just keep on getting better and better. In this book Catty receives a scroll that tells them how to distroy the Atrox. Only problem is that it's in another language and that Regulators are being sent to retreive the scroll for the Atrox. Then Catty goes back to the past and sees her mother for the very first time. Catty finds out about her past from her mother and that she is the desired heir to the scroll. But the Regulators are getting closer to finding out about the scroll and will do anything to destroy it. This book was really good and I can't wait till The Sacrifice comes out in September.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, February 20, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #4: The Secret Scroll (Hardcover)
Catty has a boyfriend now, and he's getting jumpy around her. she got a D on her geometry test, and to top things off, she got a call saying that her biological mother's dead. When they go to the coroner's office, they show Catty and Kendra (her adoptive mother) proof that she is this lady's daughter. the proof is a geometry test that was dated a week after that day that had her name and address on the back. then after that, she dragged vannessa along back in time (like she always does) and finds a envelope of one of her mother's possions. and the possion was a tarnished and blackened MOON AMULET!! then next week she takes the test and she gets a hall pass and looks at the 2 tests and after that she starts back to class and stanton shows up and takes her back in time to her mother.
It turns out she was the daughter of a fallen goddess and an evil spirit.it's not that hard to figure out who the evil spirit is. then Chris turns out to be centurys old and is the guy who gave her the scroll and Vannessa's new boyfriend is a Regualator and Catty, Serena, and Jimena have to battle him. I read this book in like an hour and it was a good book, but i'm not giving away the ending.

I would have to say that this book was far by the best out of all four of them. This is about Catty's story, in how she has always wanted to go back in time and meet her real birth mother. So finally she does and meets her mother who tells her about these new Followers called The Regulators who if they are near you, you can sense some static electricity. She also meets a mysterious stranger who gives her a manuscript which is called The Secret Scroll which tells you how to defeat the Atrox, which is an ancient evil who is planning to distroy the Daughters of the moon. Which the Regulators are also planning to get so they can destroy it. So to find out what happens read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Terriffic!, June 9, 2001
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon, Book #4: The Secret Scroll (Hardcover)
Catty finds her mother, and recieves the Secret Scroll from the Mystery Man. With help from someone who-will-not-be-named, she was able to go back to the time when she was found at the desert. The Daughters think that Maggie has betrayed them, but is that true? And why are all the Regulaters around? You know, the really powerful guys? Can Catty figure out how to use the scroll and destroy the Atrox once and for all?

~Spoiler~ The ending was realllllllly sad! Why couldn't Catty and Chris be together? It made me cry... I still cant believe how totally oblivious Vanessa was that she still liked Micheal! I wanted to slap her out of it! Anyways, it was a really great book and I loved it!
