WARNING DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE EDITION,
By Christina R. (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: THE DAUGHTERS OF NORA CRAWFORD (Kindle Edition)
The formatting for the Kindle is terrible. There are no paragraph indentions and numbers stuck randomly into the text. It is so distracting that I did not even try to finish this book.

Daughters of Nora Crawford.,
This review is from: The Daughters of Nora Crawford (Paperback)
"The Daughters of Nora Crawford," is the newest novel by Anne Lebrecht. I enjoyed her last two novels, so was eager to read her latest. Three daughters are separated by a tragic event and are then reunited about eighteen years later. Each has had a different upbringing and join each other, though reluctantly, in an attempt to try to find their father. How they slowly learn about each other and build a relationship makes for an intriguing story. I found myself unable to put this novel down as I eagerly read on to learn more about these women. This writer seems to capture your interest without boring you with unnecessary details making this a fast, and easy read. I highly recommend this novel for your enjoyment.

The Daughters of Nora Crawford- review by Anne Elwick, author of We Don't Say Goodbye,

Review of Daughters of Nora Crawford, by Anne Lebrecht
Anne Lebrecht is the author of several published novels. Her latest effort carries the reader along with three young girls who are orphaned at an early age when their mother commits suicide. They live in foster homes, waiting for a father to come in search of them. When that doesn't happen, they are separated by the adoption of Sylvia, the eldest. Anne chronicles Sylvias search to relocate her sisters, and find their father after she is adopted by loving parents and finds herself in a priviledged set of circumstances. Her adoptive parents support her in every way. Her life is more than she dared hope for. The two other girls are not as fortunate, and Anne shows us what they face and deal with in less than ideal circumstances, but also their journey to finding love and happiness. These three young girls overcome hardship and adversity in a world that is a challenge for the toughest. There is a happy conclusion to this story. I found myself smiling through the final chapter. Anne writes an interesting story that shows us that dreams really can come true.

This review is from: The Daughters of Nora Crawford (Paperback)
I can always tell if I like a book when I stay up at night to finsh it and have to restrain myself from looking at the last chapter to see how it ends. "The Daughters of Nora Crawford" was one of those books. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Anne Lebrecht has created characters I would love to meet. Characters that tug at your heart and make you smile. The three sisters lives wound their way through the book, keeping my interest with subtle surprises and twists. A great book to curl up with at night. Thanks, Anne. |
