Wonderfully reproduced plates at a bargain price,

This was a good book both in terms of quality and the price. Many art books become prohibitively expensive when the focus is on one particular artist. The book includes a well written bio on Daumier and descriptions of the plates for those who cannot read French. Still, one weakness that I found was the failure to include some of the most famous pieces. It was almost as if they had simply been forgotten to be inserted- they are even referenced in the biography! To conclude, if you want one book that has all that Daumier had to offer this one isn't for you. However, if you would like to own some of it in a nicely presented package without spending more than $15 with shipping (that's amazing) then buy this book!

As a fan of Daumier I was not disappointed by this book. The lithographs are clear and each one has a full page. Wonderful book which I will treasure - very very good value!
