About the Artist

The undisputed king of trucking songs Dave Dudley has had royal career. Dave began playing music in 1949 after a local disc jockey heard him strumming along with songs in his studio. The dj offered Dave a live spot the next day and a regular morning show soon followed.

Dave Dudley traveled a lot and every town seemed to have a radio station for which he ended up working as dj and artist. He also formed a bar band everywhere he went. In 1961 he put his first song on vinyl and Maybe I Do (on Vee) made the Top 30. A year later Under Cover of the Night (on Jubilee) became his first top 20.

In 1963 Dave put up the money to cut one more song. He took his Six Days on the Road to a friend in the jukebox industry and by sum-mer’s end, Dave Dudley was a star. Six Days went to #2 on Billboard’s country charts and was a Top 30 pop hit as well.

Dudley continued to churn out country hits through the end of the ‘70’s. You’ll find all of his biggest, rowdiest hits on this package including the classic Truck Driving Son of a Gun and his #1 Pool Shark.

I oder this cd and was hoping for original dave dudley but it sounds like a late late version of him so don't let the picture fool ya, it really stinks

...You talk about a Truckers' Special,I can say this is some real
outstanding beer drinking truck driving good old country music
that a trucker can sure apprieate while on the interstate for
driving long distance.A great Song By Dave Dudley,Im proud to
drive a truck,Six days on the road and Im home tonight,just to
name a few is a real treat songs for the truckers

I ordered four CDs from four different sources on the same day. This order took the longest to arrive - by eleven days. It did arrive in the given time frame but still it was a little disappointing compared to the other suppliers. The item did arrive in excellent condition and I am enjoying it very much.
