Dave Thomas autobiography (if you want to call it that) is a collection of lessons learned on what leads to success in everyday life. There is little in here about the building of Wendy's and some things about his personal life but it mostly recounts the stories of those he knows and what makes them successful. For those looking for a lighter read about common sense, good values, and treating people like you would want to be treated this is a great place to go but not for a lot of business information.

The publisher's review of this book suggests that the material is "light," which may be accurate. However, Dave Thomas has a gentle way about his writing style that I believe is areflection of his personality. The book is full of interesting stories about his success in building a hamburger empire, and includes some valuable lessons about building a business with integrity and compassion. Wendy's has been famous for supporting the communities it serves, and I enjoyed reading about Dave's philosophy of hard work, honesty, and charity. These are things we can all benefit from. I recommend this book to any aspiring entrepreneur.

You may also want to read "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and "The 17 Principles of Creating Wealth" by Phillip Collinsworth.

This is a great inspirational book. It's full of examples of people who live out their beliefs and take action to help other people. It makes you think about how you will be remembered when you're no longer around.
