I am so picky about tomato sauces that I usually make my own. Dave's Gourmet Organic Red Heirloom Tomato Sauce is the absoluate, hands down, best! It tastes so good, and the beauty of it is that there is nothing unwholesome in it - just a lot of delicious organic foods and their flavors. the texture is a little chunky (nicely so), there is no sour tomato taste, everything is balanced, not too much salt or flavor enhancers or cover-ups. It's just super delicious from the first to the last bite. The fact that it is organic is a huge plus.

Hi, I bought this product in a pack at Costco. I have to say that compared to other sauces I favor (my favorite so far is Trader Joe's tomato and basil marina in a can), this one is a bit bland. I am having it now again for the third or fourth time, and this time, it tastes better after adding salt, grated cheese and hot sauce. It probably is a sauce true to italian marina as I believe I see chunks of carrots and this is what is called for in my Italian cookbook. And perhaps I have gotten too used to the strong tomato flavor in other sauces, but I'm rating it mediocre due to the general lack of flavor.

I purchased Dave's Gourmet Red Heirloom(2 pk) at Costco and loved it. I am picky about pasta sauces (due to being Italian and getting homemade sauces) and feel this sauce has great flavor, and is well balanced not too sweet not too acidic. My daughter does not like chunky sauces and this was perfect. I liked it so much I went back to Costco (it doesn't seem to be a regular item) and bought 6 more 2 packs. I hope Costco brings it back. A must try.

This is without doubt the best sauce you will ever be able to buy! It taste like a homemade brew from a first generation Italian using vine ripened tomatoes. It costs me about $10 a jar, but it is worth it. I use it as a marinara sauce on spaghetti, or as a cooking sauce on fish. You will like it.

Like the last review, I too am picky about my sauce, and make my own. However, this stuff is REALLY good. There is one of the flavors I don't like (can't think of which one), but this Red Heirloom is EXCELLENT. Highly recommend it. This sauce is robust, not too sweet, not tart, really...just right. I am first generation Italian, and I give this two thumbs up!
