4.0 out of 5 stars Must See Bowie, February 17, 2011

This review is from: David Bowie and the Spiders: Total Rock Review 1969-1974 (DVD)
Although David Bowie is not interviewed (if his interviews were included, the rating would have been five stars), the video uncovers some interesting facts that even Bowie afficionados may not be aware. For example, there is a mention of Bowie working with Marc Bolan on a song, but Marc only wanted to do one take and left the studio. Also, Trevor Bolder and Woody Woodmansey are interviewed and discuss when Woody was fired by Bowie during the Pins Ups album recording session. It also includes rarely seen clips from Bowie's appearance on the NBC Midnight Special at the Marquee Club shortly after Woody was fired.

It captures the most colorful and glamourous era of David Bowie. A must see for Bowie fans who wish to return to an an era when rock stars were seldom seen on mainstream network TV except late at night.
