If you want an easy to read but comprehensive guide to the Pentax K200D then this is the book to buy. After buying the Magic Latern book, which in itself is better than the owners manual supplied with the camera, I felt that I wanted something more comprehensive. This book by David Busch appears to be more detailed and easier to read, it is a larger book with color photos whereas the Magic Lantern book is about the same size as the owners manual. If you only want to buy one book to supplement the owners manual then this should be it. Well written and suitable for beginners and more advanced photographers.

This is an excellent guide for those of us new to the digital SLR and even a review, I would think, for those more adept. It treats in detail all of the features of the K200D and offers sound advice on the use of those features. It goes on to add some good trouble-shooting tips as well.

If you own a Pentax K200D and want to know absolutely everything about this camera, then purchase this book. It is easy to read, organized and I haven't had one question about working with my camera that could not be answered by this book. The author's genuine love of photography is obvious. Not only does he guide you in how to work the many features of the camera, he explains why the feature is beneficial and how to get the best picture possible. The guide provided with the camera teaches you how to work the camera and it's many features but does not explain why you will need them and when.

The Pentax K200D is my first DSLR, and the features can be a bit intimidating for a new user. As far as I can tell, there are only 2 books dedicated to this camera. Do not even waste your time on the other one. This book is like a bible for this camera, with well thought out chapters and color photos. If you get this camera, do yourself a favor and get the book along with it.

who wish to take quick advantage of the numerous
advanced and professional features of this marvelous system.

This is a lot better than using the manual that comes with the camera. It explains why you use the different setting. It also explains the camera in terms I understand. I have already recommended to two users of Cannon cameras they should buy David Busch's Cannon book for their model of camera.

I love Pentax DSLRs but hate their manuals. It's hard to find the information you need in them and explanation of functions/controls is minimal and sometimes confusing. This is the manual Pentax should have provided. It's well organized and explains every function of the camera in detail with great illustrations. It's not a book on using the controls to improve your photography, there are plenty of other books for that purpose. But for coverage of every feature of the camera and how to access and use them, this book can't be beat.

Excellent book. Well written, easy to understand, and covers almost all subjects a Pentax owner would be interested in. I'm tempted to visit other books author has published.

Well written and very informative. A great way to learn mre about your camera than the owners manual. Seems like it is written just for this camera, although much of the information can be used on most DSLR's.
