5.0 out of 5 stars David Cassidy At His Best!, January 15, 2004

This is undoubtedly the best work David Cassidy has ever done. Great melodic rock with a harder edge. If you're looking for The Partridge Family David Cassidy, you won't find that here. It's just too bad David didn't continue in this direction instead of returning to the pop music. I would have loved to hear what could have come next. His vocals on this CD are outstanding and show that he has a very impressive range. By the way, this CD was actually released on Enigma Records in the U.S. and Capitol in Japan. Buy this CD and you won't regret it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cassidy Solo, October 7, 2004
This review is from: David Cassidy (Audio CD)
I have a feeling that if David had his choice at the time, this is the direction the Partridge Family sound would have evolved to. Loved everything, especially Living Without You, You Remember Me, and of course, Lyin' To Myself. Find this, Buddha, and reissue this, NOW!

this lp was David's first album of the 90's and maybe his best album to date. in each album he has released you can see a change and a growth from the cherish and rock me baby albums to the 3 he did with rca. then in 1985 he put out the romance lp which is good but this album is like nothing any one ever heard from him before he was 40 when this album came out and the lyrics on this lp are very mature and sophisticated all his other albums are awesome to but this one stands out. the best song might be the opening track labor of love i have this on cd and tape it will be hard to find cause it's out of print but i suggest getting it if you can. this 1990 comeback has the hit lyin to myself its to bad the cd is out of print its david at his best. I have a lot of respect for him to still be putting out albums 30 yrs later oh yah i need 3 lp's of his to complete my collection so if any one wants to part with cassidy live 1974
and getting it in the street 1976 and romance 1985 id love to buy them off you . thanks

5.0 out of 5 stars Feel Good Dance Rock at it's Best, June 15, 2011

This 1990 album by David Cassidy is a hidden gem. Most of the songs are cowritten by David and his wife, singer/songwriter Sue Shrifrin. The tunes are heartfelt, sexy, & rockin' & will keep you dancing all night. David also does a great arrangement of the blues classic, "High Heel Sneakers" as well, with a little sampling of "I Think I Love You" in there. If you're a David fan, you'll love this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!!, January 30, 2012

Love this album! Criminal that the record company went to hell and this didn't get proper promotion. Lyin' to Myself should have been a number one song - and the entire album should have been top 10.

David Cassidy proves again that he has always had talent, and was never a flash in the pan. It's just unfortunate that his timing has always seemed to be off.

Whether you are a David Cassidy fan or not, this is just a great album.
