I liked a Tale of Two Cities but found it at times ponderous. I heard this was his masterpiece and I don't doubt it. What unique characters and lively prose. Everyday 19th century England brought to life for better or worse. A pleasant, leisurely way of telling a story and a style that draws you in. You get used to him and gladly await the next reading.
