The story is an unusual fantasy about a young boy and his dream adventure, magnificently illustrated by Freud with stylized color plates that are aesthetically pleasing and artistically Art Deco in Style. Tom Seidmann Freud (Sigmund Freud's Niece), Tom was born Martha Gertrude) was a German children's book illustrator who was one of the pioneers of the avant gards art movement. This book marks her first American appearance. This is a scarce American edition.

Just beautiful. Janet Perkins Los Aneles

Format: Hardcover

I found out about this book on "Brain Pickings." The illustrations are whimsical and finely detailed - absolutely lovely. I cannot afford the $350 for a copy of this book, but if I had the money I would certainly buy it. Just beautiful.
