About the Author

David Goldblatt was born in 1930 in Randfontein, South Africa, the son of Lithuanian-Jewish parents. He became interested in photography in high school, and started his professional career in 1962. Goldblatt's photographs are in the collections of the South African National Gallery, Cape Town; the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. One of the leading member of Magnum Agency, Martin Parr has been a professional photographer for more than 30 years. His work is photography at its best: Parr photographs ordinary people, urban spaces, scenes in everyday life, and transform them into stories

Format: Hardcover
Goldblatt's books takes you from the South Africa of the 1950's to the present and from his first book to the latest. The beauty of the book lies in that you are, along with David, an intimate observer of history unfolding.

Highly recommended for any serious photography enthusiast. An experience on its own... T

If you have to buy only one book presenting Goldblatt's work, this is the one. An overview of more than fifty years of photography in South Africa. Beautifully printed, the best book of one of the masters of photography.
