Old Testament Comes Alive,

We are currently using this slim little book for our morning homeschool devotions. It offers 2-page summaries of some of the Old Testament's greatest stories, along with providing lovely color illustrations and Bible references for each topic covered. We read the summary and follow up with reading the Bible chapters. Sometimes that makes for a long Bible reading, as the author condenses several chapters into one summary. However, this "system" really gets us into the Word and brings alive anew those great old names we hear about from the Old Testament: David, Samuel, Solomon, Samson, Saul, etc. I am grateful for the prompting this book provides. I can actually keep the stories and lineages of the people straight! I am glad to see the author has written a book like this about the New Testament as well.
