5.0 out of 5 stars New Format, June 27, 2010
This review is from: David and Goliath 1961 (DVD)
They formated the widescreen to fit the 1.33x1 screen. What is the wrong to format the 1.33 screen to fit the widescreen tv. Is not better than having black bars. I like the new format.

1.0 out of 5 stars Chopped and mutilated, May 3, 2010

This review is from: David and Goliath 1961 (DVD)
Aside from the problems mentioned by the previous reviewer, this copy of the film is badly mutilated. It was filmed in a 2.35:1 aspect. What you get is 1.33:1. Some 40% of the film has been chopped off. I wouldn't have this trashed version if they payed me to take it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only the names are the same, September 10, 2009
This review is from: David and Goliath (DVD)
A bible story like it was never told. All Israel looks like 1960's Italians. And when Goliath (Kronos) first appears they use 60's sci-fi music. I'm not sure but I think King Saul (Orson Welles) mumbles in Italian. The story has slightly changed and So David (Ivica Pajer) gets the girl and congratulations from Old King Saul. His rival (no not Goliath) Abner (Massimo Serato) gets the shaft.

The only real sad part was the scene where poor innocent cutie shepherd girl gets electrocuted.

I can not avoid saying "Read the Book"

Samson
