This series is a terrific look at some of the most important architectural achievements in western civilization. Each video investigates the construction of a particular time period. In the first video, Pyramid, the author surveys Egyptian history and gives very plausible explanations of pyramid construction. In City, he explains how and why cities were constructed during the Roman Empire. Castle and Cathedral are awesome tributes to the architectural achievements of the Middle Ages. What makes these videos so unique is the author's combination of live footage and a story within a story told by the use of animation. They are videos that can be enjoyed by both children and adults and leave the viewer with a deep appreciation of the inventive genius of each time period.
