His latest book is "Comin' Right at Ya: How a Jewish Yankee Hippie Went Country, or, the Often Outrageous History of Asleep at the Wheel," co-written with Ray Benson and published by University of Texas Press.
Before that was "Ryan Adams: Losering, A Story of Whiskeytown" (UT Press, 2012), winner of a "Culture" honorable mention in the 2013 Eric Hoffer Book Awards. He has also written a novel, "Off The Record" (2000), and serves as co-editor of UT Press' American Music Series.
