From School Library Journal
Grade 3-5-- A fairly typical sports biography of a far from typical athlete. Miller looks briefly at Robinson's stable upbringing and high school years, and then concentrates mainly on his basketball career at Annapolis and his rookie season with the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. She outlines his academic accomplishments, his military service, and his musical talents in addition to his proficiency with a basketball. His participation in the Pan American and Olympic games and appearances in nationally aired athletic - shoe commercials are also highlighted. Average quality black-and-white photographs appear throughout, and a substantial summary of Robinson's basketball statistics and awards is a welcomed feature as an appendix. --Tom S.
