I saw this book in a bookstore in Atlanta, Ga over 17 years ago in it's first edition. While I had not been impressed with other "How to 'do' psychic stuff" books, and was also under considerable parental pressure not to acquire more (being a young and "impressionable" teen at the time), a cursory read of the text showed what appeared to be quite simple instructions and a fascinating breadth of supposed psychic abilities covered. So, impressed, I snuck up to the counter when my Mom wasnt looking and bought it.

As other reviewers have noted, the most amazing fact about this book is that you start seeing results from the moment you put its techniques into practice. You will have some degree of success with everything mentioned in the book, from seeing auras to table tipping. There will be points during practice of the excercises when you make a breakthrough, and your hair will literally stand on end.

As one of the most easily accessible texts on psychic abilities I have ever encountered, it is indeed a shame that this text has gone out of print. Having said this, a more widespread reading of the text and practice of the excercises would no doubt make many of the "extraordinary" abilities listed in the book become downright commonplace. The author, and the book, are really that good!

for me. An amazing little book by a man who's been President of
a few different American psychic societies and has a way of coming across which is so down to earth and easy to approach that your level of education doesn't matter. I think thats great.

I also think its amazing the number of books on Amazon and [another store] on this subject that don't get as nearly as many reviews from folks telling you how THEY got specific results from the use of this little book.

I've read many of St. Clair's books and was inspired to create a FREE MSN (microsoft network) community dedicated to him and his books. There are many books out there more sophisticated and prestigious but few that will get you the RESULTS you want as quick or as successfully. That's a rare talent. Thanks David!!

I purchased a paperback copy of this book in 1990, and I have owned it & Loaned it, ever-since. I just wrote a review for a Sylvia Browne book, mentioning how Valuable David St. Clair's book truly is ! However....now, I see it is "out of print." How very Sad.

I learned to Astral Travel, by reading this book, before joining an organization with very expensive books and tests and fancy certificates..... The only thing about the teachings of the org. that was more explanatory of "Astral Travel," was the fact that it also taught the Mechanics of it all (Physics). However, you can get that information, easily, from Deepak Chopra's "Journey to The Boundless" and his other works. So, SAVE Yourself some Money and buy David St. Clair's Lessons in Easy ESP and some of Deepak's Tape-sets.

You will save Tons of money and have Wonderful Results. Organizations will try to inform you that you must do all this in a very complicated manner, with a lot of superfluous rigamarole....but, let's face Reality : You do this, Every Night, when you go to sleep & Org.s want your hard-earned Cash!

If you own this book, you will value it, treasure it & loan it to all your friends in the field of interest. In fact, my copy is on-loan, right now!

I just cannot comprehend WHY this book is "out of print!!!" As many others have said, THIS book WORKS !

It is a real shame that this book is no longer in print - I buy every used copy I come across to give to friends. This book will change your life. It is an easy read, and the excercises work from the very start. IT IS NOT FILLED WITH THE TYPICAL DRIVEL THAT IS IN MOST PSYCHIC?ESP BOOKS! I agree with a previous reviewer, you will get more out of this book than sever hundred dollars worth of seminars.

I read this book several years ago and found myself able totake control of situations I once thought doomed, ruined. This bookdoes everything from help you rest easier at night through color visualization, to unimaginable feats of mental control and balance! BUY THIS BOOK! This book will help you in many ways. It focuses on clear cut things you can do to help yourself be more aware of your surroundings and your mind's own capabilities. As the author states: you don't have to stare at your bellybutton for 6 days to see results or eat only brown rice! Funny light approach easy read....

Finally, finally! I've just ordered another (used) copy of David St. Clair's 'Instant ESP'. I bought a new copy years and years ago - loaned it to a dear friend after she heard my raves about the book - she subsequently lost it - and I never got over its absence. (I've never loaned another book since then which was that precious to me. I'll buy a book and give it away, now, but upon realizing this book was out of print when I tried to replace it was almost devastating to me.) The lessons really are instant! I've bought, read and studied much material since my initial purchase of David's 'Instant ESP' but nothing has ever replaced its importance to me regarding this subject. It's difficult to understand why this book is not currently in publication!

I purchased this book about 4 years ago in a used bookstore during a very dark and hopeless time in my life. I flipped through and it looked a bit dated and silly (and farfetched) and I put it back. As I was walking out the store something stopped me, a strong intuition that prompted me to go back and buy it. I did so. My life has never been the same.

The spells and techniques in this book are the easiest I've ever come across and the results are instantaneous and jaw dropping. The best technique in the book, the "Cosmic Forces" spell, has delivered to me great jobs, wonderful girlfriends, money, business success,emotional and physical healing, on and on and on. It's been out of print since the 70's, but has a loyal cult following, and it's simply because it works wonders and miracles, and it's reputation just keeps spreading by word of mouth. If you think it's too costly at over $20 used,PLEASE, I promise you, it's the best bargain you will ever come across to enhance your life, if you have faith and really try the techniques. Read the other reviews. This book has done so much good for so many people.

The book IS dated by it's language, but get past that and try this stuff out. It's not only easy and quick, it's fun, and just so rewarding.I read it and use it everyday, and my life gets better by leaps and bounds every time use it with more focus and discipline (and with a good purpose).

David St Clair was a Time-Life reporter, and Psychic who traveled the world for 12 years studying all forms of the Occult for the magazine that employed him. This book really simplifies what he learned to it's bare essence. I consider him one of the top five great spiritual teachers of my life.

His other books are just as amazing, with two standouts being "The Psychic World of California" and "How Your Psychic Powers can make you Rich" which is hard to find, and has been purchased for crazy amounts of money on some sites. I got mine for a reasonable but higher than usual price a few weeks ago (never knew it existed) and it was well worth the expense. An amazing companion to "Instant Esp" with a much more detailed lesson on 'The Cosmic Forces' and a wide variety of magical studies such as runes, talismans, amulets, astrology, color magic, self hypnosis.

Good luck to all of you, and use his techniques to bring good things into your life and into the world. Magic is reciprocal,so don't use it irresponsibly. One last thing on "Instant ESP": Don't roll your eyes until you've tried it. and faith and purpose will make it work with ten times the power.

I bought this book at a used book store 22 years ago. At the time of my purchase, I had been suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for four years. It was so debilitating. Until I had Chronic Fatigue, I never knew that someone could feel so depleted that just sitting down and looking at a TV would feel overwhelming. I was exhausted all the time, had trouble concentrating, and yet I couldn't sleep at night. When I saw the chapter on falling asleep in the Table of Contents, that was the first one I read. It didn't work perfectly for me for a long time though because I overlooked the part about clasping my hands across my chest. So, in the beginning I would do it two or more times the incorrect way and I usually would get at least some sleep. But, the turnaround came when I read the part about the Cosmic Forces. I began doing it several times a day, asking for exactly I wanted. The first few days--nothing. But I continued and after two weeks, I had a short burst of both concentration and energy. It lasted only a minute but it felt like a miracle! I kept it up, day after day, several times a day. What began happening was that almost each time, the burst of concentration and energy lasted a little longer than the time before. In just a couple more weeks, I felt good for an whole hour and, soon after, an entire day. Then, thrilling to me, I had a whole weekend when I was filled with energy. I felt absolutely great. I shopped, visited friends and had a wonderful time. The Chronic Fatigue had gone--and has never returned. I rarely need the chapter on falling asleep anymore but on the few occasions I do, I now do it correctly and it works quickly every time. I do still ask for the guidance of the Cosmic Forces, but no longer every few hours--or even daily or weekly. Just when I feel the need. My grown son and I have shared this book for many years, but I recently bought him his own copy from Amazon. Who would have known that a book could "cure" me when so many doctors could not.

David St. Clair was an author who had an extensive interest in the occult. As he traveled the world one common denominator emerged, and that is that there are workable techniques for improving one's psychic abilities that are known worldwide; they may be called a different name depending upon the region of the world in which one finds them, but their working methodology is the same. St. Clair codified these techniques into a practical course of psychic development which he then presented in person at workshops he conducted around the country. This book is basically that course in psychic development in written form. The title is something of a misnomer because the book is not a course in E.S.P., but rather a complete course in psychic development including seances, astral projection, healing, deep meditation, influencing others, and much more. I read the book when it first came out, and there are techniques in the course that I still practice to this day for the simple reason that they are fun, they are simple and easy to apply, and they work! I recommend this book to anyone who wants to develop their psychic abilities quickly, easily, and without the rigamarole which usually accompanies teachings that promise psychic development.
