5.0 out of 5 stars For green rooibos, a most excellent buy
My wife and I love red rooibos, and without a doubt, Davidson's Tea provides the single best purchase in red rooibos one can find.

We read some information that made green rooibos something we wanted to try. It has somewhat different health benefits than does red rooibos, in ways that white or green tea have other benefits than does black tea. Since we expect...

Because I really love red rooibos, I decided to try the green variant as well (after all, I do prefer green teas to black teas). But I was disappointed with this infusion, which was somewhat pale and tasteless compared to the Davidson's red rooibos that I bought from Amazon in the same order as a test. Even so, the green rooibos does make a nice base to try adding...

Since we expect to go through a lot, we decided to give this a try.

For those without experience with green rooibos, the taste is rather like a cross between chamomile, green tea, and a hint of red rooibos, but with a slight scent of recently-cut hay. You will generally find green rooibos combined with other flavors in the store--one popular one is green rooibos with honeybush. This will likely be our preferred blend, too. Davidson's Tea also has a very nicely-priced honeybush, so do consider this. Also, Davidson's Tea has bulk hibiscus, which helps make a nice blend of theirs called "Spring."

We will be buying more of this in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, July 3, 2009

I really like this tea. It is somewhat like green tea, with a grassy aroma. If you like red rooibos (or if you like green tea), this is one you should try. I only wish it was available in teabag form. Not quite as sweet as red rooibos, with a sharper edge to it.

Just what we wanted, loose rooibos tea. Green is unusual, a lot lighter and crisper than regular, but delicious. We'll run out of this quickly!

5.0 out of 5 stars My "go-to" remedy for a cold etc., January 23, 2011

I have a stressful job where I work around sick people and their often unprotected coughs and sneezes. Davidson's green rooibos tea is what I reach for at the first sign I'm coming down with something, or those times when my own immune system just feels fragile and run-down. I make the tea strong (2 heaping teaspoons to a cup), bring it to a boil then steep at least 6 cups on the stove (lowest setting on the burner so it's just gently steaming) for a half hour to an hour. Sometimes that's enough to knock out the oncoming cold, sometimes I stay on the tea for a few days. Bottom line: my coworkers have been sick this winter, most several times; I haven't been sick once.

I sometimes drink green rooibos straight but generally mix it with either Davidson's Spring Fruit and Flowers or Davidson's Spiced Rooibos Chai. Good luck!

Because I really love red rooibos, I decided to try the green variant as well (after all, I do prefer green teas to black teas). But I was disappointed with this infusion, which was somewhat pale and tasteless compared to the Davidson's red rooibos that I bought from Amazon in the same order as a test. Even so, the green rooibos does make a nice base to try adding other, more pungent herbal teas, and the price was so reasonable that experimentation is easy to justify. I suspect that the processing, not the underlying botanical product, is why this variant seemed bland to me, but everyone has his or her own tastes, of course, and you might conclude otherwise. What's clear, though, is that if you know and like green rooibos, you just can't beat the Davidson's price on Amazon.

I don't know much about teas. I didn't realize when I bought it that it was not a "green tea" but an herbal tea. But I tried and I love it. After doing some research on the tea I discovered it has some gastric medical benefits that really help me. It is also naturally sweet, which means I can use less sweetener.

Our family enjoys many of Davidson's bulk herbal teas and they are all high quality and a great bargain compared to tea bags. The green rooibos is reminiscent of green or oolong tea without the caffeine.

I love this mild flavored tea! For me, the most important thing about it is that it does not contain caffeine. I like to drink it in the evening, English-style, with milk. I just wish it came in teabags!

This is one of the best buys I have found on the Internet. At the Vitamin Cottage this stuff is outrageous, but here a pound is much cheaper and a whole lot fresher!!

Residing in Canada, finding green rooibos is quite difficult except in pricey upscale tea shops. My local tea shop has it but the price is approximately 25$/oz.

Here comes Amazon and Davidson's Tea where I could finally buy it in bulk for a reasonable price. The rooibos is great and it has that grassy aroma to it. Being rooibos, it is not the tastiest drink but it is good served hot during a cold winter or iced cold during a hot sunny summer day.

Healthy, caffeine-free and cheap, what could I ask more ?
