This is my favorite tea from Davidson's.

I am Chinese and I am familiar with the Chamomile that you can buy in Chinese stores. This particular tea from Davidson is very different. This particular tea is made up of YOUNG chamomile flower buds, and not mature flowers like you usually find in Chinese stores. According to my moms and grandma, the young flower buds are especially desirable since they are more pure and carry additional health benefits. This kind of young chamomile flower buds are very sort after in Asia, and is hard to find in US stores - even in Chinatown.

I am not a herbalist, all I know is that this tea tastes great, there is no caffeine and is very soothing. Mix it with a spoonful of honey, or in my case, organic blue agave, and it's the perfect drink for the evenings.

Chamomile as a herbal tea is well known for its health benefits, both in Egypt and China. It is supposed to be good for everything, especially liver health, eyes, immune system, etc. Just do the Googling yourself. :)

According to my mom who is a value hawk, this is a very good deal as well. It comes in a large 1 lb bag and it lasts for a while even if you drink it every night. The bag is also zip lok like resealable, which is very handy.

I love chamomile tea. It's great for the skin. I'd been drinking it from tea bags but now... there is really no comparison. The taste is great --much "fresher". (I even like to eat the chamomiles that flow around in my cup.) Plus, it doesn't have that "diaper" taste that you get sometimes from tea bags.

As the other reviewer mentioned, the bag is HUGE, and the chamomiles are in whole buds. Really great value. And much cheaper than if you buy the boxed tea bags in store. Hope they have plenty of it in stock because I'll reorder again and again....

This is a lot of tea for the money, and it tastes fine. I poured about 1/4 of it into a tin I have for tea, and in that 1/4 lb I found a few sticks, a not-small rock, and a bird feather. The bird feather has me kind of squicked out now - not sure if I'm going to be able to bring myself to drink it despite the fact that you brew it with boiling water that would certainly kill any birdy germs. They definitely need to work on sorting out the garbage from the tea. If it weren't for that, I would have given it 5 stars. That's the only issue I have with it, but it's kind of a big one.

This is as good as any chamomile I have had, with a sweet, full flavor. The bag is much larger than it appears in the photo. This is a TON of chamomile. I would guess that you could drink two cups a day for at least a year. If you are really into chamomile, you won't find a cheaper price.

This chamomile is by-far the best we have tasted. Gently crushing the flower heads before steeping releases tons of flavor, and what a great value. A pound of chamomile is a lot!

This tea tastes great. Whole flower buds, wonderful aroma right out of the bag...and the bag is huge. I drink this tea nearly every night. Sometimes a few times a day. I like to mix it with their organic peppermint tea and make a wonderful after dinner but just before bed tea. This is a really great value. Will buy again when I run out.

I'd never before had tea of 100% chamomile so the taste was a novelty and learning experience for me. I like it but I'm not as much as hibiscus. Blending is a wonderful idea, however. Chamomile adds a sweetness to other herbs, hibiscus gives it a tartness. The two are great together. The package arrived well packed, intact. The bag is foil lined brown paper with a resealable top. It's quite convenient. The chamomile is whole flowers, round and about the size of a pea. I tried crushing the buds with my fingers before brewing but it didn't seem to make a difference. The whole buds tend to float, though. I read on the web chamomile is a mild sedative; that it relaxes and helps one sleep. Possibly it's only the power of suggestion but I sleep better after drinking this -- that is, I sleep a little longer and feel more rested after a nap. I recommend this herb and this brand but for myself, I like to blend it with other herbs such as hibiscus.

I didn't realize how much I have become accustomed to herbal blends until I tried this. It is solely chamomile...no hibiscus, no rose petals, no citrus, just chamomile. Now, I am not a tea connoisseur by any means so when I realized how different the taste was, I checked the ingredients in another package of herbal chamomile that I have. Thats when the lightbulb went off. By itself the taste is VERY earthy...even after adding honey...in my case way too much, and it leaves an unpleasant after-taste in my mouth and for some reason in my throat as well. Unfortunately I can't return it and don't want to spend more money on other herbs to blend it with...so I am just going to give it away and purchase one of Davidson's blends instead.

Oh and it's a HUUUGE bag that I imagine would last me for the rest of the year, even if I drink it once a day. It comes in whole flowers that were a bit off putting so I put them in my food processor and chopped it up a little more. I think that may have been my downfall because the earthy taste became overwhelmingly more potent.

I recommend for those who don't mind such strong herbal flavors but if you prefer more of a balance, I suggest adding herbs or just purchasing a blend up front.
