We love ours so much that we purchased another as a gift for a friend. We use this in our motorhome to keep the pipes from freezing in the winter, keep the moisture down and keep our toes warm while camping. Uses very little electricity, just warm enough and no worries about fire hazard.
Wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

We have used these dryers for years. AWESOME product. We have several collector cars that we put them in year round. We use them in them in our RV and in our closet with our leather motorcycle clothing. WAY better than using a light-bulb or heater. Would recommend them to anyone that has a moisture or high humidity problem.

There are two different models of the Happy's Air Dryer ... I have the smaller (rectangular) version which (conveniently) fits the interior "floor" my coal burning stove, where It's put to use during the off season, i.e., when not heating with coal. The first season w/o the Air Dryer resulted in a rusted, slimey stove interior (because of our humid upstate NY Summers). The perfect solution, as it turned out, was the Happy's Air Dryer which fit conveniently the interior "floor" of the coal stove. It's a simple unit, yet well made, totally silent, not a burn hazard, and kept the stove interior bone dry throughout the season w/o contributing (any noticable) heat to the room. It has worked flawlessly for 6 years, and I'd definately recommend it for an enclosed space, like my stove application, or trailer, or yacht.

We use this in our bathroom to speed the drying of clothing that we hang to dry after using our little Haier washing machine. This does a pretty good job of removing the moisture from the air. As other reviewers have stated, it also increases the overall temp of the room as well.

It doesn't remove as much air moisture as a normal dehumidifier does/would, but then again, this thing is a whole lot easier to store when not in use than a floor standing dehumidifier - an important consideration for those who live in smaller homes and have limited storage space! When not in use, we just put this on a shelf in our linen closet. And it also has helped reduce the mold that likes to creep into our tub/shower. Our bathroom is not as well ventilated as it could be...we're upping the vent fan from 70 CFM to 100 CFM in hopes that there won't be ANY mold. But I plan to put this little thing to work in winter to help with that as well.

If you're looking for this type of "appliance", it's a good item for a fair price that does just what it is advertised to do. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that it seems that for the size (about the size of a medium pizza, as another reviewer put it), it should do a better job and remove more moisture, or at least remove the amount more quickly. But this is a very minor nit...don't let it stop you buying this if you're in need of it.

UPDATE 12.23.11

We decided to put this in our boat over the winter, to try to keep mold down (we've never experienced MUCH mold, but what we have gotten has been a pain to clean up/clear out each spring).

For my second boat I purchased a 34' SeaRay power yacht and I love it. Located in Sausalito, CA where the winters can be very moist the boat always had that damp, moist bone-chill when I boarded almost every weekend. This Air-Dryr takes out all of that moisture and I enter a boat that feels welcoming and comfortable. I leave it plugged in 24/7 and feel safe doing so when I am not going to be there.

We are using this in our RV and have had good results, drying the air. During winter the condensation builds up by your breathing and this has helped clear up some window condensation we have had

I use this air dryer to prevent rust on machinery that is kept in an unheated garage here in the cold damp pacific north west.
This unit is dead silent, uses very little power and is incredibly effective.
I am sold.
