I spend 20-40 hours a week on the water and have found this to be a great reference tool. It can also be used for self instruction and to teach/introduce piloting skills to others. You need to read it and understand each section which, at times, needs some concentration. That being said ,I have purchased all of the coastwise reference materials and have put them in a three ring binder that is kept on the bridge of my vessel.
