Davis' Nclex-RN Success,
By Sally Higgins (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Davis's NCLEX-RN Success (Paperback)
This book is an excellent tool for nursing students for preparing for the NCLEX examination. It provides a logical, systematic method of review by beginning with a comprehensive pre-test for identifying areas of needed study. A procedure is then outlined for how best to approach the defined area of study. The book is also a particularly effective resource for nursing faculty to guide students who need remediation in specific content areas. The only down-side of the book is that it is a bit ominous in size; however, the clear plan of study with multiple tips and suggestions for success on the NCLEX exam compensates for the size.

practice questions are poor,
By Special K (Maple Grove, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Davis's NCLEX-RN Success (Paperback)
The practice questions in the beginning of the book replicate certain areas (thyroidectomy, hernias, GI) and lack in the areas of peds and maternal health. So, the review practice questions should not be used to judge your clinical knowledge in all areas nursing. On the upside, what other study guides lack, this book makes up for them by having nice illustrations with descriptions, good rationales and meds info. Saunders and Kaplan are two books that complement this study guide.

Informative. Poor quality of the print.,

This review is from: Davis's NCLEX-RN Success (Paperback)
Nothing against the content, but the quality is bad.Tables are badly printed, missing or overprinted entries, some graphs are also missing. Publisher was not interested to provide any correction. Maybe next edition or revision will be better. Do not count on it as a single source of the information.

Difficult to use,

This review is from: Davis's NCLEX-RN Success (Paperback)
There is a lot of information in the book. It covers every topic you will in great detail. Nearly too much detail. The review sections are hard to follow and hard to review from. The graph's are complicated to understand. The outline form they use is just to hard to go by. It all depends on the type of person you are but I would go with a different book all together, like Incredibly Easy.

Great book,
By Marina (Salt Lake City, UT, USA) - See all my reviews

I found this book to be very helpful. The review of pathophysiology and the nursing process is great. Also, the test taking tips were good, espcially if you are not a good test taker. This book has helped me as a nursing student and I am confident that it will help when I take the NCLEX.

This review is from: Davis's NCLEX-RN Success (Paperback)
I have not finished reading this book yet, however, I think that It is a good book with the part of review. To save money, I bought a used book few days ago, and I thought that it included a disk with review questions because the seller just said the missing pages, but it didn't include the disk with review questions that I really need. So it makes me frustrated. Anyway, it is a good book.
